Flexible House Share Dalmellington Ayr.

The rent per 5-day week is based on our usual workers who normally travel home at weekends. 7 days per week may be available by negotiation. Short stays are just as welcome as longer ones.

We are sociable people who enjoy an environmentally friendly life style in our eco home. The house is a modern bungalow in a very quiet cul-de-sac. We enjoy the added luxury of a wood burning stove and solar panels for electricity and hot water.
We grow a lot of our own food and have WWOOF volunteers visit from all over the world to help with our garden and learn about our lifestyle.
We are self-employed textile craft workers and work from home, in our office.

You will have your own key & can come and go as you please. We are used to renters who need to get up really early.

Someone who stays would be welcome to share the sitting room and to cook in the kitchen.
Dalmellington has a good Co-Op plus 3 take-aways - fish n chips, Indian & Chinese. The butchers is open very early for cooked rolls etc.

If you like to get your feet in grass and love to be outside you will probably feel at home here as there are walks in every direction from the village and the hills are not far away. We are members of Doon Valley Astronomy Group & are a short drive to the observatory in the Dark Sky Park. We are only 5 miles from Loch Doon Dam & the osprey web cam at the café.

We have no TV, no aerial or satellite dish, but we do have a TV licence. You are welcome to bring your own laptop or other device & share our internet connection to watch live tv or catch-up.

The single room is pleasant and comfortable, south facing and has plenty of space and storage for one person.

The village has 3 buses an hour to Ayr and is handy for Ayr hospital, which is on the bus route. Prestwick Airport is only 35 minutes by car & we have friends who work in the aviation industry. We are close to several wind farm developments and on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park. One of our previous renters worked for the Forestry Commission based in Straiton. Our most recent renters worked at a local electric sub-station and in the open-cast coal mines.
