Beautiful double bedroom in shared house (station)

Ad ref# 3339947

Professional person for a lovely double bedroom in a well maintained Victorian house with quiet patio garden. The room is fully furnished with double bed, a range of bedroom furniture and a place to write/study.
The kitchen has fridge/freezer, gas hob and electric oven, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a shared lounge which is very comfortable (with free view TV). The house is just four minutes walk from the train station but in a quiet Victorian street.
Would suit a professional non-smoker to share this lovely property with three friendly housemates. The current household is two males and one females and we are looking for someone to make up the home. A resident's parking permit is available. The rent is £495 pcm which includes all bills, including very fast broadband.

The property is owned and managed by Mark who is a very considerate, helpful live-out landlord (no letting agents are involved).

Tenant testimonials:

Sarah:

I like living in Sackville street because of how central it is to town, the proximity of shops, supermarkets and the train station. There is also great use of buses which arrive every 5-10 minutes and take you in and out of Reading. Situated around the house is the beautiful countryside where there are lots of different walks to discover lots of different places including, Henley, Caversham, Sonning & Pangbourne.

Mark is a wonderful landlord, who is very responsible, approachable, and is on hand to fix things.

This is a great place to live because of how close it is to everything which is literally on the doorstep.

It is a very quiet street, and all the neighbours are very friendly and love to have a good chat too.

I would highly recommend living here as it is a very homely place, there are lots of opportunities to get around and out and about using public transport, and everything is within walking distance.

We have a beautiful courtyard garden, where you can just sit outside in the evenings, and just relax and unwind after a long busy day at work. We are also very sociable, so we like to hang out together, watch movies and have a good natter.

We would love it if you came to live with us, as we are very welcoming, friendly and easy going.

Steve:

I've lived at two of Mark's properties in Sackville Street over a few years. The houses are a stone's throw from the shops and bars of Friar Street, and within easy walking distance of the rest of the town centre. If you travel from Reading station regularly then that's five minutes' walk away. The central location means you do get some noise from traffic and the general population. However, the rooms at the rear of both houses are generally quieter.

I've found Mark to be a reliable, organised and friendly landlord to deal with. His tenancy agreements are clearly explained prior to signing of the contract, and he's always willing to discuss any concerns you may have Mark keeps his properties in a very good state of repair, and he is responsive to any call for help with maintenance problems - i. e. gas boiler, wifi router, etc.
During the Covid-19 lockdown Mark has taken care to warn us in advance about any visits he's paid to the property for maintenance reasons.

Part of the agreement Mark has with tenants is that we regularly clean the house. A rota for cleaning communal areas has been in operation in both the houses where I've rented. Tenants at the houses have mostly been in their 20s or 30s, and though these are definitely not 'party houses' friends are always welcome to visit for a short time.
