MALE Homesharer required for older couple, Windsor

ategi are a charity providing a Homeshare scheme in the Windsor area. We support older householders who wish to remain living independently in their own homes but require a small amount of additional support to enable them to do this safely. We carefully match them with a suitable homesharer who, in return for providing approximately 10 hours support per week (NOT personal care), receive affordable accommodation within the area they wish to live.

We currently have a male householder living with dementia who is supported by his wife, but they need some additional support. They are looking for a MALE homesharer who would be happy to spend some time with the male householder, perhaps going for walks, to the golf range or the pub for a drink and a game of snooker etc. Also to stay with the male householder if his wife needs to do the shopping or perhaps just have an hour or two to herself. The homesharer should be someone who is quite confident & outgoing and is able to engage with the male householder and is patient and tolerant.

In return they can offer the choice of two large bedrooms and the use of a separate small living room if the homesharer wants to watch something different on tv or have friends round etc. There is a separate shower/toilet/sink on the ground floor for the homesharer to share with a male lodger who also stays with the family a few nights a week.

The house is in a quiet cul de sac on a large estate just outside of Windsor. There are bus links into Windsor but you can walk there too (approx 2 miles). The home is a tastefully decorated and tidy modern house with ample living space.

The cost is £150 per month to ategi plus a one off £100 matching fee payable once you are matched and move in with a householder. The householders do not want a contribution to utility bills but the homesharer will be expected to pay for their own food and for council tax if applicable.

This would suit someone who is confident and outgoing as well as patient. It doesn't matter if they work full time.
