Room/ apartment for rent

Room and garden to yourself many weekends, and occasionally during the week too! I work in a university elsewhere, but am on sabbatical in 2014-15, so will be there during the week from August on with my dog, a friendly retriever. I'll probably be away on many weekends, and when I'm away you can have guests (by prior arrangement). There is a ground floor bathroom, which, although not en-suite, is almost solely used by the lodger, as I use the upstairs bathroom, and there is safe covered storage for a bike. On some weekends, and on some occasions in the holidays, I may have my two teenage sons with me. The house is just under 2 miles from Cambridge (20 mins by foot to Jesus Green, quicker on a bike) and close to a convenient precinct with butcher, baker, greengrocer, supermarket, post office and pharmacy. There's a good regular bus to the city centre/ rail station. The ground floor of the house is newly decorated and there is a south-facing garden, which I normally maintain myself (if I am away in the growing season though, I might ask the lodger to give the grass a cut once in a while!). I am looking for a clean, independent and friendly-but- quiet female lodger -- academics or post grad students would be ideal, but any professional woman is welcome to apply. The house is very comfortable, but it is an ex-local authority house, not a handsome Victorian terrace! It is clean, safe and private: this is a ground floor bedroom but there is a church in front, so you are not overlooked. I may be prepared to consider renting the room for a period shorter than 4 months at a rent of £550 pcm -- email me if you are interested in this option.
