Double room in spacious house just off Mill Road
Hi!
We have a double room in our 3-bed house which is furnished with a wardrobe, divan drawers and a bedside table.
The House
We have good-sized living and dining rooms that work really nicely as social spaces for everyone, and are home to a large ‘Smart’ HD TV with Netflix, an Apple TV and speakers linked to our home media network through Airplay. The kitchen has everything we tend to need including filtered water, a large fridge-freezer with ice maker, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, washing machine and decent coffee machine…. we are a pretty caffeine happy house! 8D We have a separate shower room and WC, which have both been fairly newly fitted and therefore are still nice and shiny, so we don’t tend to get queues for the facilities. Plus, we have a large garden out the back, which is good for keeping the bikes safe (but out the house) and BBQs in the summer.
The Location
The house lives on a quiet residential street a stone’s throw away from the ever popular Mill Road. We are less than 5 minutes by cycle to a big Sainsbury’s supermarket, about 10 minutes from the city centre, the train station and the Beehive retail park and there’s a handy post office on our road. The Citi 2 bus route frequently passes on Mill Road to Addenbrookes, the city centre and the Science Park. We are right next to the Romsey recreation ground for all your park needs… circuit exercise machines, basketball court, football pitch (and, from my experience, a good Frisbee-ing area), plus there is free on-street parking.
Us
Currently, we are 3 friendly professional housemates (2 girls, 1 guy) who are happy to enjoy a meal together, chill out with a film or a glass of wine and be generally sociable, but we are also kept busy with our own schedules so it doesn’t get claustrophobic. We like to keep the house clean and tidy, and respect each others' things and personal space; we would be keen to find someone after the same.
You
In our new housemate, we’d be looking for a non-smoking young professional (preferably male to even things up, and sorry - no couples) who likes the sound of the above and would be looking to stay for 6 months or more.
Costs
The room is £500 per calendar month plus bills that average approx. £75 and include council tax, water, gas and electricity, broadband, TV licence and Netflix. The deposit is one month’s rent and there are no letting agency or application/tenancy fees.
Interested?
If you think this sounds like your cup of tea (or coffee) send us a message telling us:
- a little about yourself (where you’re from, what you do, what age you are, anything else…?)
- when you would want to move in
- how long you would want to take the room
- when you would be available for viewings
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Jen
