Our house has been in the family for over 115 years! It is tucked away behind Oubas Hill, and faces onto open countryside. This is an ideal starting point for running, walking or cycling, with a large area to explore without using a car!

Although not in the centre of town, you can walk there quickly and by using our rear exit to Hoad Lane and Ford Park – avoid the main road completely. We are of course far too convenient for Booth’s Supermarket “round the corner”!

We have had many years of enjoying lodgers staying with us, but now that our children have moved on, we have recently altered part of our house to provide a new area that we can enjoy with our friends at weekends, but also share with others during the week.

Whilst we are live in “landlords” – the accommodation is separate from our rooms, so a fair degree of privacy is achieved: It could make a lovely alternative to rather impersonal and basic hotel and “Travel Lodge” style rooms. It would be ideal for a working professional looking for the comforts of home, whilst having to work away from home. We have gone to a lot of trouble to finish the rooms well.

There are four rooms – bedroom, lounge, bathroom, as well as a galley kitchen. There is wireless broadband available in all these rooms.

The bedroom has quality single beds – with all new bedding.

The lounge has a small Stovax stove that we keep running during the colder months – so the whole area is really cosy although there is central heating throughout the accommodation anyway! The lounge has a TV and a rather good CD/DVD surround system too.

The new bathroom is equipped with electric shower - and is bright and airy.

The new galley kitchen has been designed to provide self contained facilities to cook and prepare basic meals (microwave, mini-oven, hob, fridge, etc, and is fully equipped) There is also a large table, ideal for meals, but also for working on if required.

An outside door from the lounge provides direct access to a large decked and seating area for lodgers – in a garden setting and with views of Hoad Monument. This door can also be used by lodgers as the main entry to the accommodation from the off-road parking area.

2 people could share the rooms, although there would be an additional charge of £35 per week. Although listed as a Monday to Friday let - availability is possible many weekends by arrangement.

Bedding and towels are provided and changed at weekends. Bills and fuel for the stove are included, and cleaning is done at weekends.

Boring but important! The property is fitted with wired fire and carbon monoxide alarms.
