Room to let on Walney Island

Mature student at Lancaster uni offers a spacious double room for rent in a recently refurbished terraced house on Walney.

The room comes equipped with a double bed, night tables, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a tv point. There a good number of electricity points as well. It is bright, south facing, equipped with double glazing and with neutral colours/cream carpet.

The house is a standard 2 bed, so that means that the bathroom (with toilet) is shared, as well as the kitchen and the lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped with the basics and a bit more and the lounge is communal. As mentioned before, there is central heating and double glazing so it has a degree of comfort.

We recently bought the property and I have a 12 month training contract in Barrow for the NHS.

My working times are typically 9- 5 mo-fri, and the weekends I intend to spend back home in Notts, although really busy times I will stay the weekend as well.

Bruno, my collie/retriever beast, is intending to stay over as well, although my wife is fairly possessive of him. He is very kind and is used to have plenty of people passing through the house, so I don't foresee any problems. He is a long haired black dog, so in the moulting season, do expect a lot of black hairs suddenly appearing on the cream carpets and stair case. I am used to hoover multiple times a day during those times! Worthwhile bearing in mind if you are allergic to pets. Bar the occasional woodworm, I don't intend to have any other animals in the house.

I managed the international student house at Nottingham University for 8 years; as a result I am a pretty easy going, tolerant kind of chap. I speak english, french, german, dutch and a mouthful of maltese and spanish. I am used to most religions and most cuisines. As long as you treat me with respect and a degree of tolerance and openness, we'll be going along fine.

My hobbies are jazz, tinkering with classic cars, boats, sailing, rowing, reading and I relax by cooking and a glass of wine.
