Double unfurnished room available in a large house at Seven Dials, to share with three women - two UoBrighton staff/PhD student; one artist; all creatives; all late 30’s/early 40’s.

Room has period fitted wardrobes and a sink, and looks on to garden and can easily hold a double bed, chest of drawers and a desk. It has a corner of bespoke box shelves and drawers too, a really sweet feature.

House is a large, airy maisonette, wooden floorboards and period features and lots of art throughout; four bedrooms in total; two WCs, one bathroom, one shower room; living room with working fireplace; large modern fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer; large walled garden with decked area and a path down to a large lawn.

£488pcm, plus bills (around £100-150pcm). Deposit of one month’s rent, and rent paid in advance. Could be flexible terms on move in date, so ask if it’s not an exact months’ notice that you’re working with.
We’re seeking someone that is creative, intellectual, humorous, sociable and open.

We’re not a home that shuts our bedroom doors when we leave the house and we don’t squirrel ourselves away behind those same doors when we are in, but we do respect each other’s need for privacy and need for personal space. We’re all very active people and see home as somewhere to relax, recharge and rejuvenate but also like it to be a social space too.

No couples, no pets (but you must be dog-friendly as there is a dog that comes to stay every now and then) and we are seeking someone that works outside of the house for the most time. No smoking in the house, but there are occasional smokers in the garden.

We’re a meat eating/vegan/wheat free mix. All varying degrees of left-wing and straight to queer. Happy to live with a mature/masters/phd/postdoc as well as creative professionals.

The house is on the Brighton side of Seven Dials, 600m from the station and right in the heart of its village area, but on a quiet, tree-lined avenue. There are two Co-ops close by and a Waitrose and world food store around 10 minutes walk away; a heath food shop; loads of corner shops, take-aways and bars/pubs; a dentist that takes NHS,; a really good doctors. Parking is zone Y.
