I have two double rooms available for rent in my easy going household which I share with my 3 year old grandson. Room 1 has a double leather bed and two bedside tables with a matching wardrobe and a chest of drawers. There is also a table lamp and a built-in wardrobe that will eventually provide much more storage, but which currently has a disconnected boiler in it.
Room 2 has a wooden king size bed, an antique triple wardrobe, two bedside tables with lamps, a leather sofa and a chest of drawers. This too has a built in wardrobe.
The bathroom of the house has an electric shower over the bath and there is also a downstairs cloakroom.
There is storage space available to you in the kitchen with use of all cutlery and crockery and equipment including combination microwave, George Foreman grill, sandwich toaster, slow-cooker and pressure cooker. Just outside the kitchen in the futility room is a washing machine.
There is wireless broadband access and use of the phone for local and national calls up to one hour (no mobile or premium numbers). This also extends to international landlines in 20 other countries. Both rooms have a satellite TV point, but you will need to provide your own Freesat box and television (due to previous thefts).
Lately I have been working on the back of the house; a multifuel stove has been installed in the communal sitting room and a conservatory has been erected, which although unfinished, can still be enjoyed during the warmer months. This communal room also has a dining table and Sky TV- no movies or sports I'm afraid, just documentaries (I'm a bit of a closet geek), entertainment and lifestyle programmes. This room leads to the garden which is west facing- ideal for summer lounging and barbecues! I'm planning to have a patio laid which will vastly improve its useability and provide an ideal environment for outdoor entertaining.
I feel I must give fair warning- there is a bit of a stuff bottle-neck in the communal sitting room (due to the necessary sequencing of work) and I am currently decorating the hallway so it is more than a bit chaotic downstairs atm, but it will soon be transformed into an oasis of style.
I have been environmentally active for all of my adult life so I would prefer people who either share this ethos fully, or who would be willing to embrace it regarding the running of the household. Recycling is an absolute must.
Couples are welcome, the weekly rents being £65 per person (Room 1)and £70 per person (Room 2). For singles paying pcm I require 1 1/4 months rent in advance (Room 1 £462. 50 and Room 2 £487. 50); for couples paying weekly, two weeks in advance (£260 and £280 respectively). Rents pcm are then due on the moving in date every month, rents weekly from the 7th day after moving in.
I am currently caring for my grandson, but do not know how long this arrangement will be for. He wakes between 7 and 8 am and is generally asleep by 7pm. Once asleep he is quite tolerant of noise, so you needn't feel that you have to tread on eggs in the evenings but unfortunately we can't have any wild parties! He very occasionally wakes during the night and like any child of his age, he is most definitely awake once he's up. It would therefore be an advantage that you are either rising at a similar time or sleep like the dead. You will be able to have undisturbed rest at the weekends though as he stays with his other grandparents on Friday and Saturday nights.
I also have a small friendly dog (a whippet)and a cat who mostly remains aloof, but with only slight encouragement would avail himself of your facilities, so if you love animals that would be a bonus. (Just an advisory- he's very quick!).
There will shortly be an explosion of work here- the bathroom, radiators downstairs, the cloakroom and garden which will vastly improve the facilities on offer here, so, if you are child tolerant, pet friendly, able to ignore a bit of chaos downstairs and would like to live in a relaxed, friendly and cheerful environment please feel free to contact me in order to view either of the rooms.
