Hullo.
We have an unfurnished double sized room up for rent in our shared house. It is available immediately to the right kind of person. The house is a lovely, big detached house next to the Gipsy Hill Hotel. It stands in about two acres of walled garden, giving plenty of green space to enjoy. Well, it's as much a nature reserve than a garden. It has a large communal living/dining room, a big kitchen, a double garage, two toilets, a spare guest room for spare guests, an ironing room, a washroom, parking and plenty of space. We have wireless internet access. We even have a campfire. Cool huh? The room is a good size. It comes unfurnished.
Three of us live here presently, two females, one male, ranging from early 20's to mid 30's. We are all professional types, one accountant, one photographer and one who does scientific things with the weather. We are decent, relaxed and friendly folk. We enjoy each other's company we and are looking for someone who is easy to get on with, clean, tidy and helpful with the shared chores. A sense of humour and the ability not to take oneself too seriously is always a bonus.
It is a quiet, chilled out atmosphere here. If you're the kind of person who likes a camp fire and a bark of a clumsy squirrel as it plummets from a pine tree, then this place could be for you. If you need to be right in the centre of town in a box, then this place really isn't for you. It lies on the edge of Exeter, Pinhoe/Monkerton part of the world. The busses to the city centre are frequent, Pinhoe train station is only a short walk away, and the bike ride in to town isn't very long at all.
It is ideally positioned for anyone who works on or near the Sowton industrial estate (MET Office, EDF, Ashfords etc), Exeter Airport is a short hop away and it really easy to get on the A30 Honiton road or the M5 from here. The rent is £420 pcm, which is split £300 for the landlord, and £120 for the house bills account. We cover the house bills ourselves, and we have had to add £20 to the bills account recently as winter is a coming, which is a shame, but that's inflation for ya.
It is always 'fun' when finding a new housemate. It is a big thing find a decent sort to get along with. We could do without someone moving in who thinks it's fair to clean the bathroom once a year, or thinks it is ok to leave their stuff strewn A considerate attitude is a must.
If this seems the kind of place for you, then please feel free to get in touch via message or phone.
Oh, and no couples please. Five in the house may be one too many. And just as people tend not to see the word unfurnished on occasions, the room is unfurnished, the rest of the house is furnished with our own paraphernalia.
Thanks for reading.
Regards.
Matt
