Great single room near hospital.
Hello and welcome to our advert :-)
We are Lesley and José, an engaged couple with a spare room to let.
About the room: The room for let is a single room decorated in light, airy neutral colours. It's a cosy yet flexible space with fold-out desk and chair for when you need it. It overlooks the front garden and gets plenty of fresh air and sunshine. The room is furnished with a single bed that has under-bed storage, a built-in wardrobe, a large shelving unit, a fold out desk, a folding chair and well located storage hooks. It's a calm space - our last lodger commented that it was the perfect size to help her keep tidy and organised and was a lovely place to relax.
About the house: Our house is a three-bedroom end-of-terrace house in a quiet suburb of Southampton (Lordswood). We have a decent sized garden and are situated in a quiet, peaceful cul-de-sac. We have unlimited parking outside, a local bus stop serving the hospital and city centre, and a supermarket within walking distance. The house is a decent size for three and has everything you need to get by (pots/pans/plates/washer/dryer /iron/hoover). We are gradually renovating, so have a new bathroom and dining-room, but the kitchen and other rooms are a bit aged (still comfortable and clean though!).
About us: We like to consider ourselves friendly and approachable and we have a good sense of humour, but we also both enjoy plenty of time alone. We’d love to stop for a chat and a bite to eat with you when we can, but we’re often quite busy or exhausted! Our last few lodgers have become wonderful long-term friends and we struck a good balance in the house – socialising sometimes but getting on with our own thing too. You can always expect us to be respectful and considerate.
About you: We are looking for a long-term lodger who is grown up and independent and will treat us and our home with courtesy and respect (entitled and/or rude individuals need not apply!). We would like to live with a kind person with a good sense of humour, that doesn’t take themselves too seriously. We rent by choice, not for business, and wish to make a new friend that will enhance the family feel of our home. We are open to both employed and self-employed individuals and post-graduate students. There is space in the house to work/study, all we ask is that you have some kind of external life (as we do) so that we all get some time alone in the house now and again. We do not wish to live with a smoker, nor a heavy drinker. If this sounds like this could be you, please get in touch for a chat. 😊
Practicalities: The room is available now and costs £365 per month with all bills included (gas, electricity, water, council tax, high-speed broadband). The rent is payable in advance by the 1st day of each month. We require a £450 deposit in advance to secure the room, as well as a copy of your ID and a reference from your current landlord.
Feel free to send us a message if you have any questions.
