I have an appealing double bedroom available in my nice conversion flat in Blackheath.
The flat benefits from a large reception room with a comfy sofa, an arm chair and a large dining table and chairs. It has French doors with direct access to the large back garden that is shared. The flat was bought a couple of years ago and was largely redecorated and refurbished so, for the most part, looks new: almost all the furniture is new, and the bathroom was fitted with a brand new bath and shower. It is part of a large Victorian building which has been converted into flats (eight in total - three flats above and four more flats adjacent).
It also has an excellent location: it is 8 minutes' (at most) walk from Blackheath village, so is very convenient for all the amenities there as well as the station: there are regular trains into Charing Cross, and in the daytime there are also trains to Victoria and Cannon Street; all trains go to Lewisham where you can pick up the DLR. It is also very easy to catch a bus into Lewisham - the stop is just a minute away from the flat - for a greater choice of shops. A lovely walk through Blackheath village will take you to the heath, Greenwich park and then on to Greenwich itself.
The room available is very large and contains a new double bed (with mattress and pillows), two tall wardrobes (both with good storage space, and one with three drawers), a beside/dressing table with a stool, and a desk and chair. There are three lamps in the room as well as the overhead light. It does not have an en suite but the bathroom is just next door.
Although pets are not allowed in the flat (a condition of the lease) a very friendly cat comes to visit sometimes, and one of my friends has a dog, so if you don't like animals or are allergic, this isn't the place for you.
About me: I am a young professional working freelance in the charity sector. I also sing and perform gigs/concerts from time to time (so would need to be with someone who doesn't mind hearing me practise!). I am friendly and sociable but I also like my own space. I enjoy going to concerts, films, the theatre and book events.
As a prospective flat-mate, you would be a single professional working full-time (and preferably standard 9-5 hours). You would have a degree and varied interests. If English is not your first language, you would have excellent English. You would be looking for a home, be relaxed but also responsible and considerate.
The monthly rent includes your share of water rates, council tax, broadband and telephone, the TV licence and basic household supplies. Gas and electricity are not included - you would need to allow roughly an extra £50 each month for the winter months (November-March) and £35 per month for the rest of the year (April-October). I'm afraid the rental amount is not negotiable.
If you are interested, please in the first instance write to me about yourself and your interests and then I'll get back to you.
Thanks,
Imogen
