Double room in Quiet, Victorian house
*please note we are looking for a woman to take the room*
If you do not have a current advert could you please give us some information about yourself.
We have a room becoming free in our Victorian, terraced house.
Sadly, the house has just been sold (I am re locating to Kent). So, can only offer short term. Probably up to end of September/early October.
The room is fully furnished, with a double bed, television, wardrobe, bookcase, desk and chest of drawers.
We have all you need to survive, including a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and internet.
There is a large, shared living room, separate dining room and garden.
You can be as sociable or reclusive as you wish, as long as you are quiet and considerate.
Looking for someone with common sense and the skills to recognise tasks that need doing around the house. We operate a clean as you go and leave things as you find them system in the communal/shared areas.
We keep the house very clean. Particularly the kitchen, as I do a lot of recipe testing. So, would best suit a naturally tidy person.
I am an Aussie, ex teacher, turned chef. So, there are often goodies to be sampled.
I sometimes work from home, have a gardening business and also do some volunteering with a refugee charity.
You will be sharing with Claire, who works in hospitality. Jay, a doctor at the local hospital and myself.
My partner will sometimes stay over, but I balance this by also staying at hers in Kent.
We would prefer someone who is not a huge meat eater. Veggie not essential.
Not looking for anyone who uses a lot of hot oil in their food preparation. Or, starts cooking very late.
Bad experiences in the past of cooking smells lingering. It is not much fun living in a house that smells like a takeaway.
Considerate bathroom users only please, as we have a shared bathroom upstairs + extra toilet and sink downstairs.
Our aim is to be as green as possible by recycling, composting and being eco friendly.
So, someone who cares about the environment and their carbon footprint would be awesome. Tree hugging not essential.
We think of our home as a quiet sanctuary. If you are looking for a party house, this is not the room for you .
Close to Stratford, Canary Wharf, London City airport and Excel centre.
Zone 3 but walking distance to zone 2 stations (Stratford, Canning Town). Excellent transport links to Central London being close to District, Hammersmith and city, Jubilee and Central lines. Two tube stations ten minutes walking distance away. Also, DLR and overground, including a night bus.
This is an LGBQT + friendly household.
No numpties, planks, or door slammers please.
I am often away researching recipes (okay, traveling), so someone responsible and mature is essential.
Rent is inclusive of all bills and council tax.
Strictly non smoking household.
Just looking for a decent person who also thinks of others, not only themselves…more difficult than it sounds.
Please note we are looking for a female to take the room.
