- Westfield (the shopping mall) is about 200m away (just past the new Library & Shepherd's Bush Village Hall) with unlimited shopping ... John Lewis, M&S, Debenhams, Hse of Fraser, Next, Waitrose & much more. There are 50+ restaurants, a GymBox keep-fit club, large modern VUE Cinema Complex, All-Stars Bowling alley etc etc!

- W12 Shopping Centre is about 400m across The Green. This is the cost-effective 'Mall' where all the locals shop with LIDL, Poundland, Argos & a cheaper VUE cinema. Plus 'The Bush Doctors' a good doctor's surgery. Also probably the best Fitness First club in London ... open long hours & w/ends. Busy in a sensible way with good instructors.

- Shepherd's Bush Market (a traditional market) is 250m away is being upgraded. The locals love this market & it is a cultural experience. It is good value and gaining positive momentum. It is a 'real market'.

- The 'Bush Theatre' is located in the 'old' Shepherd's Bush Library (200m away) in Uxbridge Road opposite Shepherd's Bush tube station. You will not regret a visit. It has a good coffee bar with comfortable seating & wi-fi.

- Portabello Road & Notting Hill (with the Bookshop from the 'movie') are 20 mins walking or 10 mins Boris Biking distance away. And there is lots more ... including famous Kensington High Street & good shopping in Chiswick.

Parks, green space:

- Shepherd's Bush Green: The 'Green' itself has a £3 million face-lift a few years ago. It is well lit and now has a good play-area for families or for just 'taking the sun'.

- Holland Park, Brook Green and Ravenscourt Park are all a short walk or Boris bike away. Or they are within a 5 minute bus/tube journey away. Holland Park is particularly good for 'a jog' - it has a serious hill with a good circuit.

- Hyde Park is a Boris Bike or 10 minute bus or tube journey away. Or a 15 minute jog away! And Hyde Park is very good for a more 'serious jog' of 5 or 10 miles or so, as a circuit.

- The Thames Path (a footpath) has excellent riverside pubs. Old Oak Common, the Regents Canal & Paddington Canal Walkway are about 10 minutes way by bike. You can easily do a 3, 5, 10 or 15 mile jog/walk combination.
