Double room for vegetarian or vegan lodger

I recently bought my first house and could do with some additional income to help me maintain and develop it.

I'm a vegetarian (working towards becoming vegan) so the most important thing is that the kitchen remains meat-free.

Secondly I have two cats, so if you are allergic or not a cat person this probably wouldn’t work.

If those two points are not a problem then we'll probably get on fine, I'm pretty easy-going. Someone with geeky tendencies and/or interested in cooking vegetarian cuisine would be ideal as I’m a bit of a gamer/cinephile and want to start trying to buy, eat and maybe even eventually grow organic veg.

The house is on a cul-de-sac which is roughly 50/50 split between private and council-owned houses. A ten-minute walk will get you into Newark town centre and there are good cycle routes nearby. Off-road parking is possible on the front drive.

The room is a good sized (11'5" x 10'7") first-floor room with a double bed and high-quality orthopaedic mattress and a chest of drawers. A wardrobe or other furniture could be added if needed.

There are two shared living rooms, one is a home cinema and another is a chillout/dining room with plenty of seating. A shared bathroom is on the first floor and a second toilet downstairs. It has a medium-sized south-facing garden with seating and a small pond.

I generally work Monday to Friday but sometimes work from home - on these days I will use the third bedroom which is configured as a workshop.

The house is served with wifi and fast fibre-optic broadband.

I will be doing some decorating etc over the coming months but if the room is let I will do everything possible to minimise disruption.

Essentially I’d be looking for a laid-back lodger with at least half a brain. If this sounds like you then get in touch and we can discuss further.
