A house to call home..

Howdy boys and girls.

Addendum: whole property available from May 25 - August 31st, while being marketed for sale. So if you can tolerate the odd viewing, grab a short term bargain.

If you're not already put off, perfectly justifiably, by my sounding like some kind of cowboy in the greeting, I'll give you the necessary - and thoroughly mundane - details. Please bear with me; I'm a proverbial rental virgin, so apologies if there's any glaring omissions on the info front. Do feel free to get in touch and I'll fill in any blanks for you.

My "larger than average" (well, that's what the estate agent said when I bought the place) end terrace, 3 bed house will be resplendent with an empty (of persons, not furniture) double bedroom from mid to late January. I'm sure you'll agree that it needs filling with a smiley soul in order to return said house to happy home status.

In return for being a happy housemate, (and the boringly necessary rent, I'm afraid), you'll have a good sized double bedroom, furnished with the comfiest bed in the world. There's only one bathroom, but it's equipped with a large bath and separate shower; and there's a second lavatory downstairs.
In addition, we'll share a pretty large lounge and dining room, as well as what many have described as an overly equipped kitchen and utility room.

Regarding outsidey stuff, we have a garage in the block of six next to the house, with a parking spot in front of it. There's also a ton of on-street parking directly in front of the house. The rear is catered for with a small but perfectly formed, south facing kind of courtyard garden; perfect for barbecues and al-fresco dining.. On the three days of the year it's actually warm enough to do so, obviously!

In terms of location, we're a 10 minute amble (ie 5 mins if you're late and get a groove on) from the train station and the veritable smorgasbord of outlets that now encompass the orchard centre.

Finally, and perhaps most mundanely of all, renting the room will, I'm afraid, require you to share a house with me. Don't quite know how to describe myself without feeling as though I'm on some kind of dating site. I'd like to think I'm a relatively easy-going, pretty sociable chap. I will of course be totally respectful of your time and space; want anyone I live with to be able to consider the place a home; but no passive aggressive food labelling or restricted access to the nespresso machine, I promise.

Essentially, I'm open minded about the whole rental prospect, and happy to be educated on live-in-landlord/house-buddy etiquette. Predictably, I'm equally open minded about who I live with; boy, girl, even a couple would almost certainly be "do-able" (subject to a discussion about rental amount I guess).

More over, I'll certainly endeavour to be accommodating regarding any prospective housemates payment preferences; be it a flat monthly figure, or working out a fair share of the bills etc.

PS Regarding the single room now available; it's pretty small. I just wanted to put that out there so you're not massively (and ironically) disappointed, and I don't feel guilt ridden for wasting your time. In light of this, I'll be flexible for the right person; be it mon-fri only, or so on.
