Available immediately for non-smoking female professional. Contract til 31st June 2013.
Hi there!
The property is an upstairs flat on Chillingham Rd. There's a bus stop just by the house and its about 2min walk from the metro, about 5mins from Asda and 10min from Morrisons (feels longer with shopping bags though, ha ha!), loads of takeaways and newsagents on Chilli Rd as well as Tesco, Blockbuster etc and the Chilli (a friendly pub with a pool table and regular gigs). On street parking only: although the shared back yard is large enough to park a car, it's tough getting in and out, and it would need to be agreed with our downstairs neighbours first.
The room faces onto the back yard. It's one of the smaller rooms in the house but still a decent size for the price; it comes carpeted and has a double bed, a wardrobe, shelves and a few sets of drawers.
There are no agency fees to worry about but one months rent will be required as deposit and rent will be paid monthly in advance, at £220 pcm this means you're looking to stump up £440 at the outset.
Average monthly cost of living here inc water, gas, elcectric, Virgin TV&Broadband, TV license and council tax is: £120 (it's usually under £100 in the summer and sometimes hits £130 in the winter)
The flat has Virgin Media TV (L package with V+ to record your favourite programmes) and wireless broadband internet. There's central heating in all rooms a new combi-boiler has recently been fitted and we've also had a new fridge and washing machine (we kept the old fridge too because we like our food fresh, so there's plenty of space for shopping!). Dan has also provided a sofa which is so comfortable it borders on evil.
All utility bills are shared equally as are the council tax, cable and TV licence.
We have tons of crockery and cutlery, so no worries on that front.
The flat is a bit dated (still got chip board on some of the walls) and could do with a fresh paint of coat, the room isn't massive and the kitchen could do with being bigger but we humans can adjust to most situations, it's the people you live with that really make a place feel like home, so I suppose you'll want to hear about us!
About your flatmates:
We are three professionals who have lived here for between 3 and 6 years; we like the location, the landlord is laid back and the price is right!
We are two male and one female - so we're looking for another girl to keep the balance right. We're all single and all pretty young minded - none of us are looking to settle down and have kids just yet.
We are:
Daniel (31) - Currently setting up as a photographer and also works 3 nightshifts a week at a Co-Op.
Likes: girls, motorbiking, photography, books, movies, red wine, food, arguing with the TV.
TV Preferences: Cheesy American Comedy (2. 5 men, Big Bang, American Dad, Todd and the Book); Borderline Sci-Fi (Lost Girl, Fringe, Alphas) and 'Serious' Dramas (House MD, Dexter etc).
Contact: oh sevn ate won fife, won nyn sevn, nyn won fife.
Mariella (32 but looks 25) - Currently working 3 days a week as a civil servant.
Likes: boys, photogaphy, cooking, cinema, running, gym, mario kart wii.
TV Preferences: Cheesy soaps (Neighbours, Hollyoaks); Gritty drama (Good Wife, Grey's Anatomy, True Blood) and Comedy (Cougar Town, Big Bang).
Contact: oh sevn nyn ate tree, sicks nyn oh, for sevn sicks.
Mesh (26) - Currently working two jobs, one in pizza Hut, the other as a driver.
We don't know much else about Mesh, other than that he's a nice Indian boy who has just moved in!
About you:
You will be someone who has lived away from home for a while and knows how to be responsible. You will be tidy but not obsessively so. You are a young professional, or even just a bum, as long as you are capable of, and prepared to pay your share of the rent, bills and council tax.
You can be from anywhere in the world that you want to be, we're not fussy, but you have to be friendly, honest and have a sense of humour (Daniel can be very cheeky and Mariella's humour is quite dry). We want someone who will gel with us and vice versa, but we're not necessarily looking for a new best friend, so if you're independent and friendly, you'll probably fit right in.
You can be straight, gay, or bi just as long as you're not a total weirdo and you DON'T SMOKE! =Dp
