Lodger wanted
The house:
Newly renovated Victorian terraced house with double glazing and central heating. Lounge with wooden floors, high quality furniture and a woodburning stove. Alarm system and front/rear floodlights. Kitchen with large dining table & 5 chairs, fridge freezer, fan oven, gas hob and your own food cupboard. Carpets upstairs. Bathroom with electric shower over bath. Gas, electricity, broadband, council tax bills & cleaning products included. Cellar is OK for storage in sealed plastic boxes. Garden at front & yard at back are currently works in progress but will be sorted by spring 2015. Parking is on street under lights.
The location:
2 mins walk from ‘busy corner’ with Tesco express, butcher, pharmacy, barber, hairdresser, post box, bus stop on 110 route to Leeds, Aagrah, pizza place. 5 mins to park, 10 mins to Sandal Castle, 15 mins to Sandal Agbrigg train station.
The room:
Room looks out over small garden and trees, is very light due to huge window (has a blackout blind) and has a radiator. It's currently unfurnished, but I will furnish it once I have a lodger lined up. Light blue walls with cream carpet, slightly odd shape but it works nicely.
Me:
Mostly happy, animal/environment loving, slightly daft. I'm a shift worker so often arrive back after midnight or leave at 6am but I'm used to doing so quietly and I have a door at the bottom of the stairs which helps with noise. My fiancee has her own house in Keighley so I often stay with her, and I have horses so spend my spare time with them and don't spend much time sitting around at home. I will slowly be pottering around improving things around the house eg gardening/painting outside and sorting out the cellar. I have mates round for dinner about once a month or so and occasionally have a houseful. I'm not super tidy, so will be chilled about the odd bit of washing up left to the next morning etc.
You:
Lovely, easy-going person with liberal/green leanings & tendency to be clean & tidy. Because of my shifts I need a housemate who is considerate of me being asleep at random times and/or also a shift worker. Happy to consider Mon-Fri/short week/short term lets.
Miscellaneous:
-I don't have a TV but I do have ‘superfast’ broadband for netflix/iplayer etc. If you wanted to bring in a freeview TV for your room you'd need to pay the TV license.
-I have a small dog who lives with my parents but stays with me occasionally on my days off. She doesn't go upstairs but likes to cuddle up on the sofa (on a cover). If you have pets the same rules will apply.
-I like to run the house with as small an environmental footprint as possible - I have solar panels so expect most electricity to be used during the day (when it is free) for the washing machine/iron/steam cleaner, and eco-friendly cleaning/washing products to be used – I will provide these.
-Cleaning – Full house including your room once a fortnight each, takes about 2 hours to hoover everywhere and wipe the bathroom. Kitchen should be kept clean daily anyway!
-Garden – if you like growing veg you’re welcome to take on some of my raised beds.
