South Fitzrovia is the best place in central London to live, especially for young people. The location couldn't be more central - bang in the middle of zone 1. Nestled between Covent Garden, Soho, Mayfair, and Marylebone - it's so easy to walk to most of what London has to offer. And it borders on Oxford Street, so it's great for shopping!
In itself, South Fitzrovia is a great neighbourhood. A lot of the residents have been here for years, and there is a great neighbourhood environment. As well as the chains, most the places here are independent, offering a great range of local pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes etc. On top of that, it's pretty safe and quiet a lot of the time. It's the ideal place to live!
Marble Arch
This is a great area to live. The first amazing thing about it, that everything is nearby. Excellent bus links, a lot of night buses that are really of great value when you decide to go out. A lot of cafes and shops are opened till late at night or 24 hours. It's a lovely area, Hyde Park, Oxford Street, and other neighbourhood make this place truly unforgettable!
On the fringes of uber-cool Marylebone, the area of 'Portman Village' has become a fashionable destination for foodies and shoppers. Marylebone High Street is only a ten minute walk away as are Harley Street, Wigmore and Wimpole Streets and both Hyde and Regents Parks.
A residential haven situated just behind Oxford Street, with interesting mewses, quiet streets and beautiful residential squares. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Marylebone
Marylebone is probably one of the last villages in London. It is also great for its location: in zone 1 I do most things by walk. When I go out late, there are tons of buses I can take to come back home even from Farringdon, Angel, Old street, ... When I'm too lazy to take a long journey to go out, there are tons of nice pubs, good restaurants at every range of prices around. Some Michelin starred ones as well as Chinese or Indian places. Next to Edgware road and all its BYO restaurants. Tons of tube lines. Marylebone is expensive but is a catch!
Marylebone is a quiet, elegant, well connected area, perfect for people who like walking everywhere.
Soho
The area is very secure and monitored by security.
Soho is unique, it's London's trendy central downtown village of fun.
