I am offering for a short-term let a lovely double room (9. 6ft x 9. 8ft/2. 9m x 3m) for rent in spacious Victorian maisonette with stripped floor boards and modern decoration with a good-sized decked roof terrace, in a quiet Hackney street.

The flat also has a very large living room has a very fast wireless broadband connection, and fully-fitted modern kitchen (new washer/drier, fridge/freezer, microwave etc).

The flat is to share with a journalist who works in central London half the week and at home (in my own small office in flat) the rest of the time.

The maisonette is in the centre of Hackney close to a large Tesco and lots of local shops. It is also very near Hackney Central and Hackney Downs stations with many bus routes to the West End, Shoreditch, Bethnal Green, Islington etc nearby and within walking distance of Broadway Market, Dalston and Stoke Newington.

All bills are included in the rent (council tax, water, gas/electricity, insurance and local and national landline telephone calls/broadband).

I would like to live with a vegetarian/vegan or someone who is happy not to cook meat or fish at home.

I have been renting out this room since December 2006 and have found that it has worked out best when it has been let to someone who has newly arrived in London has a full-time occupation – whether that is a job, internship or course.
