Looking for a room in Redhill

I'm looking to move to Redhill (the one in Surrey!) from London where I work in IT; I lived in Redhill a while back and liked it. I'm a non-smoker, non-TV-watcher, clean and tidy, happily single and I've shared accommodation for most of my adult life. I don't have a car or a bike so I'm looking for somewhere reasonably central. I travel light so a single room would be OK, but I've no objections to something larger.

I would be commuting during the week to London although occasionally (from past showing about one day a month) I might want to work remotely from home. I don't take holidays longer than about 3 days but I'd be away at least one weekend a month visiting friends or relatives. I don't have visitors - I'm sociable but I don't currently entertain at home. I like cooking so I would need access to a proper kitchen but I do most of my cooking once a week at a weekend and it lasts me several days; I also quite often cook something simple for breakfast, usually porridge.

My main "hobby" outside work is a thriving children's hospital in Africa which I fund most of and volunteer for. I'm 56 although people who don't know assume that I'm early 40s and I often end up sharing with 20s/early 30s; I guess that's just how the shared rental market is. Good references available from past and current landlords/housemates. I can move any day in the next few weeks to suit you - I could move tomorrow if need be.
