This is a rare opportunity to rent a double bedroom in a beautiful, large two double-bedroom top floor flat in a sought-after central Cotham location.
My name is Rebecca, the current tenant; I’m looking for a lovely person to share my home with. It’s a relaxed creative cosy home, on the top floor with lovely views and lots of light with big sash windows. i work at Watershed 2 days a week, and from home the rest of the time film programming for a festival. I run mental health swim group and wild swim regularly. I’m training to be a menstruality mentor and yoga nidra teacher.

My home is my sanctuary so I’m looking for someone who wants a similar vibe, respects personal space and is independent, but also enjoys cooking/eating/watching a film on the projector/ having tea or wine in front of the fire together sometimes. It’s not a party flat ( although I do like a cocktail ), maybe a dinner party every now and again. I am passionate about intersectional feminism, menstrual/moon cycles, film, yoga and cold water swimming. I eat mostly veggie, but do cook meat/fish sometimes. I try to use natural/ecologically friendly products at home. Queer friendly and lefty.
Please only message if you’re a post grad student and be good to know your working pattern so can discuss how to share the space if both working from home so we are on the same page, really value open honest communication. The room is available from 6 September.

The property comprises of a large living room (approx. 4m x 5m), complete with an original Edwardian cast iron fire-place that encases a working gas fire for those cold winter nights. The separate modern kitchen incorporates stainless steel appliances, gas hob, built-in fridge, washer-dryer and mini chest-freezer, complimented by an engineered oak floor. The central hallway leads off into the two bedrooms; the one to rent is a good-sized double (approx. 3m x 3m) and has views into the gardens to the rear of the property - and the bathroom, which incorporates a bath with shower above it, heated stainless steel towel rail, slate floor and stone-effect tiles. The hallway also grants access, via an extending ladder, to an enormous floored loft space with velux window (approx. 5m x 7m), to which tenants have access for storage.

The property is well furnished, with the exception of the room to rent, which is offered unfurnished. The flat has gas central heating via a modern combi boiler (so endless hot water in the shower!) and the wooden sash windows in the bedrooms have recently been replaced with efficient draft-proof modern replicas to improve energy efficiency. The property also benefits from a shared parking space, and sits within the Cotham residents parking scheme area through which further parking permits can be obtained at moderate cost. I don’t have a car, so a space is often available out front! Space for bikes downstairs in the hallway as well.

Ideally located on Cotham Brow, approximately 150 meters up from the Arches, the property offers easy access to the amenities and thriving night-life of Gloucester Road. Approximate walking times to some local landmarks are as follows: Gloucester Road: 2 mins (0.1 miles); Bannatyne Health Club: 3 mins (0.2 miles); Redland Train Station: 6 mins (0.3 miles); The Bristol Royal Infirmary: 16 mins (0.8 miles); Whiteladies Road: 18 mins (0.9 miles); Park Street: 20 mins (1 mile); Clifton Downs: 25 mins (1.2 miles).

My current flatmate moves out in early September, and the tenancy offered would commence on Monday 6 September, six-month or 12 month term . The rent for the room is set at £600per calendar month, plus bills.

The landlord’s name is Rob; a live-out landlord with over 15 years of experience and a laid-back but efficient approach.
