Immaculate redecorated and furnished annexe with double bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, study and use of sitting room over three floors. Parking space as long as your car isn't huge!
This part of the house was built 7 years ago. It is very well insulated, so snug and warm and quite private. The rest of the house was built in 1912, an Edwardian semi over three floors.
Bedroom, first floor: double bed (duvet/bed linen can be provided if you need it), wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinet, chair; hardwood floor, large bay window.
Small landing leading to:
Private bathroom with bath (shower over), lavatory, wash basin, towel rail; tiled floor, glazed door to roof garden
Your own kitchenette, ground floor: large fridge-freezer, cooker (oven and hob), cupboards, sink. You can also use the microwave and washing machine that are in the main kitchen.
Study, second floor: on the top floor, access by hardwood spiral staircase: desk, chair, shelves. (Attic space not included in let and I will need occasional access to it.)
Sitting room, ground floor: large bay window, sofa, table, chairs, bookshelf.
The space is perfect for someone who values privacy and peace, but not for someone after a party house! It's possible to be entirely self-contained except for using the washing machine/microwave. There's also a roof garden you can use to have some outside space while social distancing. I will go onto it only to tidy/tend the plants for the duration of the pandemic. There is a connecting door with the main house which gives you access to the main kitchen at any time.
The house is south of the city centre, quite close to Addenbrooke's hospital (about 5-10 min cycle ride). There is a bus stop right outside, with buses to the city centre, hospital and train station every 20 mins. It's about 10 mins walk from the guided bus way. I'm looking for a graduate student or professional, preferably based at the hospital or the bio park next to it. Preference given to medical staff. It is a shift-friendly living space and good for self-isolating.
Rent includes gas, electricity, broadband, water but not council tax, which you will need to pay directly. It's Band A (cheapest band); with single person discount it's about £95 a month. If you are a UK student you can apply for exemption and pay nothing.
Supplement of £50 pcm for couples.
The main house has one full-time occupant, and a seven-year-old a few days a week.
Available 6th April for short-term let only (until August 2021)
Part-time occupancy also negotiable (eg weekend/weekddays)
