A small double room in a lovely old end-terrace cottage in the village of Upwell. Room is on the first floor and looks out onto the garden and the adjacent orchard. Can be offered furnished or unfurnished and I’m happy to move furniture around elsewhere in the house to accommodate your belongings.
The home is kept fairly clean and tidy and features tasteful and nature-inspired decor. My staffy is very friendly and well-behaved and I would accept a renter with a dog so long as the dogs get on well. I have brilliant dog walkers who have access to the house.
I work as an Ecologist. I work from home most of the time between Oct-Feb and on site between Mar-Sep. My desk is in the spacious conservatory where there is room for another and recreational activities/equipment should you have any. The WiFi speed is great so working from home is not a problem. I also use the conservatory for yoga, dinner parties, games nights, crafting etc. There is a decent-sized garden which I enjoy tending to and would welcome any help with. Parking is always available on the road.
I am vegan but would be happy with a meat-eater so long as good kitchen hygiene is maintained.
The house has great access to countryside walks and the doctors surgery, post office, shops, pubs etc are all within walking distance. Wisbech and Downham Market are both approximately 15 mins drive and Kings Lynn and Ely approximately 30 mins.
I’m a sociable person and would be happy to socialise/share meals on occasion but also like my own space. I often spend weekends away and have a small group of friends over for games about once a month as well as one or two friends for the odd evening or weekend on other occasions. But it is by no means a party house and I do not want groups of the lodger’s friends over. There are pubs in walking distance. I’m very flexible with length of tenancy. My neighbours are all very quiet and friendly.
I’ve listed as £440 PCM incl bills which includes a standard monthly electricity payment but if we spend more on electricity, I would expect to split that with the tenant. This shouldn’t occur during the warmer months and I do try to avoid putting the heating on to keep costs down.
