This is a happy home, containing one well behaved Collie cross dog, (who does bark enthusiastically to announce visitors), one Chinese A level student, a professional working at Glyndebourne, and me at the helm. My son will presumably be visiting from University some weekends. I'm looking for one more housemate who will get along happily with the household.
The house is lived in, and not a show house, slowly getting more chic than shabby but it's work in progress!
Mostly orderly and clean, even cleaner if you participate, occasionally chaotic but never for long.
There is a shared bathroom with shower upstairs, a shower and WC downstairs and a separate upstairs loo. Kitchen is shared, small but usually works in a strange harmonious dance.
We just want someone nice, and sensible around all the Covid precautions we all need, without being too intensely paranoid.
I've hosted lots of lovely students and enjoy that, but am inclining towards having adults who are interested in staying longer, and don't need supervision! If it's working well, I could even go walkabout sometimes .....
The garden is lovely and we do have dedicated parking., (quite something in Lewes), wireless internet and most things you need. I don't have a dishwasher or a tumble dryer on principle. Depending on schedules people usually do their own thing around food but it's nice to spontaneously eat together sometimes.
Only one House Rule other than basic respect and consideration for others, which is 'Dont complain!". If I can fix something I will, if not - Help!
It's not a hotel and I'm not going to be your mum, (or the ONLY cleaner) but we all look out for each other.
It all works best when everyone has a purpose and is happy with their chosen work, and it has to be said I am fiercely protective of everyone's needs to concentrate or focus without inappropriate disruption. It's a work hard, play nice kind of a house where it's ok 4 U 2 B U.
Five minutes walk from station, five minutes walk to leisure centre, swimming pool, ten minutes walk to centre of town.
And a trampoline ........... which will soon become a vegetable garden .....
My mobile number is in the details and a WhatsApp video call probably works to show you around and get an idea.
I have had to put the rent up as energy prices are rising and if everyone is at home all the time it's just necessary.
