Double room in friendly shared house

We're looking for a new housemate at our lovely place on Havelock Road as our current long-term housemate is moving out. The room is available from 1st July.

The house is a 3 bedroom big terraced house with a large communal dining room and living room, a front and back garden, a good sized kitchen and 2 bathrooms (shower only). It's close to the 5B, 2, 6 and 46 bus routes, and a 15 minute walk to London Road and Preston Park train stations. There are some really nice parks nearby too, and it's a short walk to get on to the South Downs. We're also blessed with really lovely neighbours on both sides.

You'd be living with Bethan and Paul, who are a couple (I'm 46 and she's 40). Lois the dog (Bedlington terrier) will be staying with us on a semi regular basis so you'd need to be OK with dogs (she's so lovely it's ridiculous - you'll spot her on one of the pictures). We're both musicians so sometimes practice upstairs in our office room, and we're away gigging and touring from time to time. We're also really keen board gamers. Bethan is currently doing a PhD and I'm a board game designer and eBay seller.

The rent is £600 a month, and the bills, council tax and broadband weigh in at about £150 or so so it's £750 or so all in. Our landlord is really sound, we deal directly with him so there's no agency nonsense to go through.

We like having people round and making the house feel sociable and cosy, and are both vegetarian (but have no problem if you want to eat and cook meat in the house), very much left leaning in our politics, and by all accounts are nice to live with 🙂 dogs are fine but not cats as I'm allergic.
