Yes, the rent is £1 per month. But you have to meet two criteria:

1. Female preferred
2. You need to be a QUALIFIED NURSE.

I'm a 50+ y/o single dad, and I live in this house with my 17 y/o daughter who is unwell. You do not need to provide any nursing services, I take full care of my daughter, but it would be of reassurance to me to have a nurse living in the house hence the discount on the rent.

I will, however, request you to make yourself available for maybe 2 hours a week to assist her with (personal grooming) things that I can't get involved in because I'm a man. No lifting, no toilet assistance needed.

THE ROOM

Clean, newly decorated, air-conditioned room in a 4-5 bedroom house in a lovely, quiet, friendly neighbourhood.

No other bedrooms in the house are going to be rented. This is not a HMO business!

It's fine if you're unemployed or on benefits as long as you meet the two criteria at the top of this listing.

Strictly NO indoor smoking, NO drugs. NO loud music. I want you to feel at home but please remember it's our home as well.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ROOM:

It is newly decorated, with new curtains, new bedding, new luxury carpets. There is central heating, of course, and an air conditioner (cum heater) mounted on the wall. Ours is a warm house so you probably won't need any additional heat in winter but it's there if you need it.

There is some furniture in the room but it can be removed or you can have additional furniture. I have a computer table, chest of drawers, mirror, small sofa etc. etc. if you want any of those. Or bring your own pieces if you prefer.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE HOUSE

The house is an extended four bedroom house. Ours is a quiet, safe cul de sac.

You have access to the full house (except the two occupied bedrooms).

There are two reception rooms - one is a large 22 ft x 16 ft lounge/diner with a lot of windows and sunshine, south facing and overlooking the garden. There is a second room used as a utility room where you can, for example, do ironing or hang clothes to dry.

There is a nice sized garden with a shed. There is also a garage, and a drive.

The shared bathroom is upstairs and has a toilet, bidet, bath (including shower attachment) and sink. There is a small downstairs cloakroom.

The fitted kitchen is well kitted out. It has two fitted fridges, one fitted freezer and a fitted oven, microwave and dishwasher. There's also a second microwave, a five burner gas hob, a washing machine etc. In the garage you'll find a further two freezers and one fridge freezer.

We are less than a one minute walk to a bus stop on Rayleigh Road, less than 5 minute walk to Sainsburys (at Rayleigh Weir), less than 5 min walk to the Deanes School / Virgin Active. Both the Benfleet and Rayleigh train stations are a 10 minute car journey and there's a regular bus service if you don't drive.

OTHER COSTS

Heating, gas, council tax etc. all included. I have a fast broadband connection and you will get free wifi access. There is Sky box in the lounge and a decent sized TV. You don't pay for any of this.

MORE ABOUT THE ROOM

The room has a fitted cupboard as you can see in the photos. The room also has a single bed with a spring mattress, and a bedside table. Behind this table are four electric sockets and two USB sockets. There are two large storage draws under the bed. There is a four drawer Ikea chest of drawers.

Other furniture can be arranged if required. I want you to be comfortable here!

There is plenty of storage available elsewhere in the house if you have more stuff.
