Inverkeithing is one of the oldest royal burghs in Scotland. Located on the Firth of Forth, It was first established as a port but is now a small developing town which runs almost continuous with Rosyth and Dalgety Bay, and is situated approx 9 miles from Edinburgh airport and 4 miles from the centre of Dunfermline.

The town is bypassed by the M90 which links Fife with Edinburgh and Lothian via The Forth Road Bridge. It is also well served by Inverkeithing railway station – a key stopping point for those travelling by rail on the main east coast line – as well as The Ferrytoll Park and Ride which provides car parking and access to bus services serving Edinburgh city centre, Livingston and other areas of Fife including links to the Scottish Citylink coach network.
