Lovely house to share in sunny Eynsham

The available room

I’m looking for a friendly, easy-going person to share a nice, sunny house in Eynsham, just outside Oxford. The room is available Monday - Friday, but I'd also consider letting it out seven days a week in the shorter term.

You’ll have a good-sized room with a 4ft double bed and plenty of storage. There’s a shared lounge and a spacious kitchen/dining room, with a large fridge-freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher. The bathroom has been recently refurbished and has a lovely big bath with a shower and underfloor heating.

There’s a front and back garden with storage room for a bike in the shed. There is plenty of free, on street parking with no need for a permit.

The house is conveniently located for travelling to Oxford or Witney, with about six miles to either. There are buses around every 10 minutes into the city centre (or to Witney) or you can cycle there in around half an hour. For travelling further afield, Hanborough station (4 miles) and Oxford Parkway (6 miles) both have direct trains to London that will get you there in just over an hour.

Eynsham is a great village, with plenty going on; there’s a Co-op, butchers, wholefoods shop, hardware shop, sports centre and plenty of pubs and takeaways. There are all kinds of groups, organisations and sports teams to get involved with too if you fancy it.

As for me, I mainly work in Oxford with some travelling about and the odd day each week working from home. I like the usual, spending time with friends, watching TV, going on nights out or to the pub. I love pottering in the garden and growing flowers and vegetables, I play the banjo (quietly and not as often as I should!), enjoy cooking and baking, and have an interest in aromatherapy.

I’ve enjoyed living in shared houses a lot over the years and so although I’m technically a ‘live in landlord’, I’m much more looking for a housemate than a ‘lodger’. I like a peaceful house and not too many late nights on a week day. I’d like to live with someone who likes the occasional night in in front of the TV, to be friendly and take a polite interest in the other person’s day but who also likes their own space and has their own life.
