Sociable grad share
Hi we are seven recent grads who have started new roles in Birmingham City Centre. Perhaps you are new to Birmingham and want friendly bunch of people to come home to after work?
We're all new to Birmingham and didn't know each other before moving in, so we're down for making friends/socialising and looking for someone who wants to do the same!
Were a mix of 'professions' with a few Engineers, a few teachers, a post grad and a 'sustainability consultant'(?). Jack likes football & allll sport, Vince likes jazz music & boxing, Verity likes video games & films, Laura likes love Island & shitty music, Siân likes watersports & Kareoke, Emma likes Rugby & bakeoff.
Overall we like to have a laugh, house meals and watching Rick & Morty in the evenings. We also try to keep the house clean, so are looking for someone who is also clean! (And willing to contribute towards a cleaner.) Even though there is a lot of us living here the house still feels very homey and there's always someone around if you fancy a chat.
About the house...
The house is huge with plenty of communal space. There is a lounge that seats ten, a dining room with full size table tennis table, and large kitchen diner.
We are just five minutes walk from the electric scooters, so that's our preferred method of travel to the city centre, although it is also very easy to get a bus. We are close to the University of Birmingham and QE hospital, with quiet leafy roads, safe for an easy cycle (or scoot). The property is on a quiet cul-de-sac road, technically with parking however 5/7 of us have cars so if you do have a car you'll have to park on the road (where there is usually space).
The house is part of a network of 15 graduate and apprentice houseshares in Edgbaston. In the summer we like to host barbeques in our decent sized garden and are looking forward to have people round to watch the rugby and football when the seasons start.
It’s not all perfect. The garden is a bit of a work in progress, the cellar needs a clear out and a use. As with all these old buildings there is always maintenance.
On the upside the building is Cat 5 wired, which means a strong broadband connection in every room, perfect for those who work from home.
Feel free to get in touch and provide a bit of basic info about yourself. Eg Why and what you are looking for in a house share. Move dates, roles, interests etc and ideally some contact info.
Unlike most houseshares, we are responsible for forming the group and our landlord supports us by taking the initial calls and passing on the people that are likely to be a good match. We can then invite you for a viewing, in person or virtual depending upon your location.
Hopefully hear from you soon!
