Welcome to our ad for a new prospective housemate to our very own villa. It may not be in Majorca, but Wandsworth is often referred to the Majorca of South West London, so......
The room? Your Hideaway would be your own FLOOR - a massive double room - with built in wardrobes and an ensuite bathroom. It really is an incredible space! You’ll have your own wee balcony with gorgeous views over our neighbours’ backyard. There is no pool or sunbaking in their yard, but there is the occasional fox. There is a large, bright and open living area on a separate floor where we regularly consume cheap TV and even cheaper wine. The stairwells have handy safety lights at night when you’ve had a boozy evening which is a priceless addition to the flat.
What else? There are also terrace areas to enjoy sunny London day, one directly from your room. The other may technically be on our neighbours roof and accessed through a window, but it’s an absolute delight in the sunshine, which is to say, it's delightful for about 3 days every year.
Who else? The current islanders are two employed professionals who aren't particularly professional; however, in the last 12 months we've both seen our Uber ratings increase by 0.4 each, so progress is being made. We’re mates who met through playing touch rugby so we’re both pretty active and you’ll always have someone to feel guilty about not going to the gym with. Lindsay is a kiwi working in recruitment/HR who loves travelling, Love Island and a glass of sauvignon blanc. Mel is an Aussie accountant who doesn't like numbers but who does like Louis Theroux, Love Island, dinosaurs, and that YouTube clip of the mother rousing on the two girls about to sing Cher by Cher Lloyd.
Where? The flat is 1,737km from Majorca, but only 5-10 min walk from Wandsworth Town station, or a 15-20min walk (or quick bus) to Clapham Junction. It’s also a 20 min walk or short bus to East Putney and the District line.
You would also only be a short walk away from the following:
· Southside Shopping Mall (Sainsburys, Waitrose, Debenhams, cinema etc)
· The Ship
· Thames Path
· The Garratt Tavern
· King George’s Park
· Other pubs
· There are at least four different gym options within 5 min walk. We ignore most of them, most of the time.
How much and when? £1015 pcm plus bills (£85) which includes a cleaner, broadband, utilities, council tax. Tv license is £50 each paid once a year in October.
Deposit is £1230 plus a one off agency fee (£375)for reference/ name change. As this is mid-tenancy tenant change, the agent fees still apply, but once we've signed this new contract then we won't be charged for renewals etc!
As a swap over date, our current housemate is moving out at the end of July.
More importantly, what are we looking for?! Someone who is friendly, has good chat, an uber rating greater than 4.5 and who thinks all of the above sounds awesome! We each spend a bit of time outside the flat but love being home and socialising as well, so if you like sport, wine or Love Island, look us up!
