Double room in fantastic communal home in St Pauis

Ad ref# 15694424

Are you looking for a home rather than an ordinary houseshare?
We're two friends in St Paul's looking for a third housemate to join us. Ed owns the house, so it's a loved home filled with quirky art and personality near Portland Square, Stokes Croft and easy reach of the centre. Oh, and there's Eris, a gorgeous (if a little naughty) cat.

For rent is a good sized double (measurements) with built in wardrobe. Currently partly furnished with a bed and bedside table. Rent is £575 which includes all bills ((broadband, council tax, green electricity, gas), a weekly cleaner and all house basics (toilet roll, kitchen roll, cleaning products, oils for cooking - keeps life simple)! There's all the amenities - a shower room, bath, dishwasher, washing machine.

The room is available from 1st October 2021 and there are no fees.

About the house
It's a spacious Victorian terraced house on three floors in a superb location. The first floor has a lounge with big windows, a massive corner sofa and our projector set-up for films and series (it's also a sofa bed for friends to stay). There's also a bathroom with walk in shower and toilet and Louise's room.

On the lower ground floor is a big kitchen with dining table that leads straight onto the garden (with sun loungers, a BBQ and seating area and vegetable planters). The garden is looking a bit stark at the moment but we have plans to make it a little urban green haven, do you have green fingers? Also on the ground floor is a storage room for kitchen/ life overspill, more freezer space, the beer fridge and also our house bar - serving up homebrewed IPAs - when Ed's been inclined to make them.

Top floor has two further bedrooms (Ed's and the room being rented) and another bathroom with a bath which any bath lovers are free to use whenever they like.

There's unallocated parking, permits are about £90 a year. It's not the most stunning road, unlike our Montpelier neighbours just a few streets along, but the house is so lovely you don't really notice.

About us
We're 34 and 40, have been living together for 6 months and are good friends. It's a social house, we love people popping over for a cuppa, we know each other's mates and like to have dinners, BBQs and drinks. The same would go for your friends too, when such things are allowed, obviously! We used to throw the occasional big shindig, especially for St Paul's Carnival, but it's not a party house. Just a happily friendly one. Ed works in the green sector and Louise in education.

We both love films, music, cooking shared meals, drinking IPAs, catching up on our lives, planning house and garden improvements and fussing over the cat. We used to go out for food, drinks to the theatre and the park together and with our friends too. We've got our own interests and social circles as well (which we can't wait to get back to) so the house is a balance of doing your own thing, chatting all about it over dinner and downtime.

About you
If you're looking for a place to call home and housemate who will be friends then this is for you. You'll probably like some of: good food, live music, art, film, theatre, interesting conversation, long walks, pub afternoons, being left-wing & green-inclined and many other random stuff besides. You won't be someone whose entire time at home is spent in their room or is never at home at all - we choose to be three because it's more fun that way.

So, if this sounds like your kind of place then send a message telling us a bit about you and what you're looking for and any questions you have. We look forward to hearing from you!
