Your room

We are a young couple looking for an easy going, conscientious individual to rent our spare room.

The room comes furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, full length curtains and a mirror. The room also has both a fire and carbon monoxide alarm.

The house itself is slightly quirky. It is an upside down house, making the most of the views to the back with an upstairs living room and kitchen. Downstairs there is a bathroom with bath/shower then two double bedrooms. Out the back there is a large tiered garden which is the perfect suntrap, ideal for a summer BBQ.

The house is located down a small quiet lane with fabulous neighbours. The train station and town are about a 20 minute walk from the house (8 minute drive) and we are also very close to the motorway (but not close enough to hear it) so perfect for being close to the centre of Newport as well as an easy commute to Cardiff/Bristol via car or train.

Up the hill from the house there is a nature reserve and down the hill there is access to the start of the canal/cycle path. There is an Aldi which is about a 5 minute walk away as well as a Sainsbury’s which is about 15 minutes to walk. There is also a Doctors surgery which is a 15 minute walk along the canal path.

As the house is located down a small lane the parking is not always so easy. There is space for some parking down the street however unless you are parking during the day it can be quite tricky. The easiest thing is to park on the street above which is perfectly convenient and has never been an issue for us.

We have only been in the house ourselves for a few months so the house still needs some decorating and modernising but it already has a lovely homely feel to it.

As you can probably tell by her photo bombing, we also have a cat (Poppy) so being ok with cats is a must. We are open to considering other small pets but cannot accept another cat or a dog as this would be unfair on Poppy.
