I have a warm comfortable single room in my two bedroomed flat, which sits on a private estate in the Highfield/Portswood area of Southampton.

The spacious & centrally-heated living room, shower/bathroom, & fully equipped kitchen, are shared with me.

There is a large loft where any suitcases or other similar items can be stored.

There is plenty of free car parking space immediately outside the flat, on the grounds of the private estate, & there is also a large grassed green for the private use of the estate residents for exercising, sun-bathing, picnicking, etc.

Rent is only £75 per week, or £325 per month, plus a contribution towards bills (to be agreed, but typically £100 per month, given total bills are c. £300 + per month). Bills comprise : Council Tax; Water; Gas; Electricity; & High Speed (> 100 Mbps) Internet (unlimited). So total all inclusive rent, payable monthly in advance, is £425 per month.

A deposit of one month’s rent (£425) will also be required.

People in receipt of Universal Credit or Housing Benefit are accepted.

The flat is located less than 10 minutes walk from either of the two University of Southampton main campuses, & only a 20 minute walk from the City Centre & the Solent University campus.

University Hospital Southampton (“UHS”) - the General Hospital - is a 15 minute bus ride away, while the Royal South Hants (“RSH”) hospital is only a 5 minute bus ride or a 15 minute walk away.

The flat is also just five minutes walk from numerous other bus routes, across the city & beyond, & only 15 minutes walk from St. Denys train station, which then connects easily with fast mainline trains to London as well as across the UK.

I am a semi-retired, working from home, 60 yo Chartered Accountant. I am easy-going, personable, & liberal in my outlook.

I divorced c. 12 years ago, but my ex-wife & I remain on very good terms, living nearby, and she & I continue to parent & grandparent together our four kids (all grown up) & our nine (so far ...) grandchildren, most of whom still live within walking distance of my home.

I am also prepared to consider very short term lets. All inclusive prices would be (room & share of bills) :

- £20 per day/night - up to one week
- £18 per day/night - from one week up to one month
- £16 per day/night - more than one month
