Large room available for Post grad/ mature student

The view from the room!

It’s a big house right next to the Highfield campus (about 1 min walk). The room has been rented to PhD/ mature students for the last 12 years. It feels more like a shared house than a family house. It’s friendly, laid back, no stress kinda place.

Currently there is only my mum, and I spend some of the time in Southampton (where my company is based) and some of my time in Bristol with my partner. Over lock-down my partner and I have been at the house for 3 months and now alternating 3 weeks Southampton, 3 weeks Bristol, but will spend more time in Bristol at some point soon.

My mum would prefer a female lodger. Also, we are only looking to rent to a student/ post docs, as we often have family to stay over holidays and that is generally when students are not around which works out well.

We often share cooking, and get a weekly veggie box. Mainly eat vegetarian but not 100% There is a cellar for storing bikes etc. and a nice sized garden.

My mum (Sue) is a recently retired educational psychologist. I am 37 and I do renewable energy related stuff.

We're both easy to get along with and enjoy active lifestyles, both sociable and good humored!

The room we are renting is at the front of the house, and looks over the common, it’s a lovely room. It has a big desk, bookshelf, chest of drawers, bedside table, sofa, huge clothes cupboard, single bed (that can be turned into a double bed). It even has a lamp : )
