Shared House Proposal at The Plantation House on site at The Woodland Retreat

The intention is to create a space where people can have their own private room in a shared house but to offer opportunity for a deeper connection to each other to create a loving and warm space for people to connect and grow. The house would have 4 people sharing but others members living on site at the woodland retreat would join in with community gatherings.


6-month commitment to letting a room and to living in the shared house with a one-month termination to leave after the 6-month period has ended.

General ideas and agreements

Keep all shared spaces clean and organised.

All private rented rooms and only entered with given permission by the person renting the room, i. e. you can’t just walk into another persons bedroom

Pay all monies due as will be agreed in the tenancy agreement to be signed by each person who takes on a room.

All shared spaces to be used with respect to all others in the house hold, kept clean and respected by all.

Bringing of guests- Not more than one guest staying over once a week maximum.

No alcohol or drugs on site or in the house.

Preference to have people who use alternative ways to heal i. e. homeopathy rather than pharmaceuticals although not essential

Vegetarian or vegan no meat

Purchase own food but food shares would be agreed and price shared. Each one would have half a fridge and half a freezer which they would need to keep clean and hygienic.

Keep all shared spaced clean after use esp. kitchen wash up and clear up after cooking and put everything away, keep toilets clean.

General ideas for each day

Daily mediation of some sort ideally all together 6 days a week depending on what is practically for everyone. A specific tranquil space for meditation, yoga, quite being, phone free, WIFI free space will be provided for all to enjoy these practices in.

Once a week

All retreat residents would share in a once weekly food gathering, each person to cook each time and to be shared in the food costs. With others to clear up etc. depending if all good agree a time or perhaps once a month instead.

Meeting to share any grievances and to iron out any issues that may surface etc.

Offering of time to the communal veggie patch at least 3 hours per week during summer months and contribution to costs of garden if you want to enjoy the veggies too.

Once a month

Kirtan chanting

Deep clean of house and outside area (4-hour commitment each) to be arranged to do all together

Offering of time to work on the woodland retreat site in woodland etc. optional.

The Plantation House

The house which will be shared is on two floors with another floor which is a separate flat. The first floor has one bedroom, toilet and open plan kitchen dining room and lounge with a separate conservatory.
