Looking for a new flatmate!
Our beloved flatmate is unfortunately moving out of our 4 bedroom flat on the 1st of October and we are looking to replace the irreplaceable. We are not very picky - as long as you're sound you can move in. We are a flat of 2 26 year old boys (by the letter of the law we are men) and Elena, a Glasgow University student, and are hoping to find our 4th flatmate asap, who is willing to stay from 1st December,. WILL IT BE YOU?
We live in Anniesland, which is a 25 minute walk from the West End and has tremendous transport links to the city centre, and beyond! We have a train station on our doorstep and buses every 5/10 minutes to the west end and city centre, ideal for students. In particular, Anniesland is very close to the University of Glasgow Vet School, so if you're a vet, our flat is very conveniently situated. We live a one minute walk from Morrisons, and a five minute walk from Aldi and Marks and Spencers. There is also a Greggs, a Subway, a MacDonalds (24 hours) and a variety of takeaways all within a 5 minute walk, as well as Lock 27, a pretty terrific pub. What more could you want?
Anniesland is also the gateway to the countryside, with a train taking you to Milngavie, the starting point of the West Highland Way and a 25 minute train to Loch Lomond. Anniesland is also home to the infamous Forth and Clyde canal which is a great walk/cycling route. If you're committed enough you can make your way to the Falkirk Wheel, however it also provides a scenic walk to the city centre or to a variety of places further afield such as Bearsden and Milngavie.
The flat itself is two floors, with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and the rest of the flat downstairs (another bathroom, the hallway, the kitchen, a shared living room, two bedrooms and the balcony, great for people watching.)
We aren't looking for anyone in particular to move in, however it would be great if we could all be one big happy family. The hours we all work can fluctuate. I am self-employed working as a court reporter in courts. I typically try to work as much as I can but due to the pandemic I have not been working as much. My other flatmate works as a tennis coach so is in a similar situtation. The final flatmate works on oil rigs so works on a 'couple of months off', 'couple of months on' basis. Therefore, a lot of the time there we will be someone about the flat.
We are all quite laid back, however we do make an effort keep the flat clean, as it can easily deteriorate with four people living here. We all enjoy watching and playing football, with myself and my flatmate playing 5 a side football once or twice a week, which any potential flatmate would be welcome to join. We also have an Xbox, PS4 and Nintendo Wii in our shared living room all of which we play. It isn't a requirement that you are good at Mario Kart, however you will gain our instant respect finishing first on Rainbow Road. My flatmates are also very musical, with both singing, playing keyboard and playing guitar in a attempt to become famous. If you are at all musically oriented they will very much appreciate this!
Finally, typically the rent is £340 a month which is very cheap (thank you landlord). The council tax typically comes to around £40 a month each, and the gas, electricity (£28.50) and internet (£11.50) coming to about £40 a month. So all in you will essentially be paying £420 a month.
