Double bedroom in West End 5-10mins to UoG

Short story is, a double bedroom in a lovely flat, fully furnished, freed up. It’s a great location very close to Glasgow University, subway, parks, groceries stores and chill out areas. The cost quoted above covers rent and all bills. Preferably looking for a mature and chill student. Just someone nice and cool!

Now for the long story,

I have a double bedroom available in a lovely flat since my previous flatmate moved out to form a home (envious!). It’s in a great location on Otago street, 5-10 mins to University of Glasgow campus (depending on which is your building), 5 mins to Kelvinbridge subway station, 10 mins to Byres Road & Ashton Lane and 2 mins to Great Western Rd, both full of pubs, restaurants and chill out places. There’s few options for supermarkets i. e. a Co-op (a bit expensive though) at the end of the road, a Tesco 10ish mins walk up Great Western Rd, a LIDL maybe 15mins away on Maryhill side and various others like “roots fruits & flowers” for vegies and fruits and a butcher shop at Byres Road. Also there a few small markets very close for emergencies. The street itself is pretty quiet with mostly foot traffic.

The flat itself comprises two double bedrooms; a fully equipped kitchen (will get back to that), a lovely big bathroom with bath and shower and a big shared living room. We used to have a projector instead of a TV for glorious movie nights but it was my flatmate’s so I’m looking to buy a new one soon. All windows are also double-glazed so the flat keeps its warmth during those chilly winter nights. The flat has a dish-washer, a washing machine and a dryer. Also, the landlord is exceptional and really hurries to fix any problem we may have and goes beyond that too.

A few things about your (hopefully) next flatmate, me. My three big loves in life are chemistry, music, and cooking. I’m doing a PhD in chemistry and I’m currently in my 2nd year. Usually, for a quite big part of my day I’m either in the lab, melting away, or doing some work at home. During these times though I only go to the lab for 4-6 hours and do more work from home. I’ve been playing music since I can remember and it was a huge part of my life for many years, towards the later years of my studies, unfortunately, that took a step back to allow for my busier schedule. Now, since I moved here all the way from Greece I’ve only managed to bring my small ukulele and my violin to have a resemblance of my good old days. Finally, cooking is something I always loved and explored, I love trying new things and I’m always looking to learn new fancy techniques. You should assume you will have some delicious Greek food (and many other cuisines) to try out! I’m slowly trying to equip the kitchen with more than the basics (I just got a sous vide machine for example) but it’s a slow and expensive process. So if you are a foody or you like cooking we’re gonna have some fun! Also, another hobby of mine is gaming and streaming which I usually do on my free time, and of course movies, TV-series and board games (which I have none yet here unfortunately).
I’m usually just in my room but I love to hang out for movies or game nights or dinners or just having a chat! Oh almost forgot the pubs with everything going on! Would love a fellow student that is chill and fun, all though my partying days are kinda gone and very few and far between so together with my early (normally) schedule it would be a bit inconvenient to have parties on weeknights, but of course I’m all for organising some weekend parties and meeting new people and socialising once of course this whole thing cools down, which unfortunately will take some time (having a lockdown during your first year in a new city/country really does a job on your social life).
Final notes:
I would prefer something more long-term since its easier for everyone and objectively as a student I think this is a great flat to live in during your studies! Also, I’m more than happy to discuss any possible issues, questions or concerns and if any hick-ups come along we can work them out quickly and professionally!
