NOTE: due to someone pulling out, I will need to submit my change of tenancy to the landlord by Monday 17th February. If you can’t view and confirm you want the room by then, I can’t consider you, sorry!
Room Available in Shawlands – £395 + Bills (£510 max)
Hello! My current flatmate is moving out, so I’m looking for someone to take over their half of the tenancy. The flat is a 3-bed on the 2nd floor, with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, free parking, and a spare room that could be an ideal office if you work from home. The room is a double room with a large wardrobe/cupboard type thing.
The location is great—just a 5-minute walk from plenty of shops, pubs, and cafes, so you’ll have everything you need close by. Getting into town is easy, with buses running every 10-15 minutes, taking around 25 minutes to reach the city centre. Crossmyloof train station is a 10-minute walk away, and from there, it’s only a 5-minute train into town. If you cycle, there’s good infrastructure nearby and space to store a bike—it takes me about 15 minutes to cycle into town for reference
Rent is £395 each (£795 total), and bills come to a max of £510, they’ve never gone above that in the two years I’ve lived here. The deposit is £600, and the landlord requires references and an income check. That said, they’re really decent—any issues get sorted quickly, and the letting agency is great to deal with.
A bit about me—I’m 28 and work full-time as a bartender. My shifts vary, but I usually work a couple of daytime shifts and then closes over the weekend, getting home around 4 AM. I go straight to bed so no need to worry about being woken up! When I’m not working, I’m usually in the living room watching films, gaming, painting Warhammer miniatures, or reading. Since I work in a social job, I can be a bit introverted at home, but I also love a chat when I’m in the mood.
I do my best to keep things clean, but I’m not going to pretend to be the tidiest person ever. I'll always try and do my fair share of the household tasks but if I miss anything, I’m autistic, so clear and direct communication works best for me—if something needs doing, just ask me straight up, and I’ll get it sorted. I’d much rather that than things quietly annoying someone and you won't annoy me or seem confrontational, promise.
I’m looking for a respectful, easygoing, and tidy flatmate who has good communication. This isn’t a party flat, but a chilled, friendly vibe would be ideal. If you’re interested, drop me a message with a bit about yourself—cheers!
