Possible consideration of a lower rate for someone who only needs to stay Sunday to Thursday nights - so who is away at weekends. The room would not be let in your absence.
A shorter term than 3 months can be considered at a higher rate.
One month's refundable security deposit required and one month's rent in advance.
The share is ideally offered to one male or one female who goes to a place of work for normal working hours. No couples thanks. Possible consideration of a shift worker - check everything else here is ok for you and then discuss with me.
It's a full share arrangement in that on the one hand I pay for all utilities etc, so you don't have to, and on the other hand we share the housework and buy our own food etc. My back is apparently not going to recover from recent major surgery so it would be ideal but not crucial if your side of the housework is the stuff I shouldn't do.
Pls only apply through the spareroom site and only if you have a complete profile online including photo.
PLEASE! read and understand the whole listing and check you're happy with the exact location (see below) etc before arranging to view. Even drive by, or into and out of the farmyard if you wish so you know for sure it's an unusual mixture of isolated farm and being on a main road.
All bills and council tax are included.
Bus stops are 100 and 450 yards away. If the bus is your means of transport please check you can walk those distances and there are services to suit your needs before enquiring about the share.
By car it's:
2 minutes to the M55 then ……
8 minutes to Preston.
6 minutes to Blackpool.
15 mins to Victoria Hospital or Preston Royal Infirmary.
14 mins to UCLAN Fylde Road.
Several BAE sites within 20 minutes.
25 minutes to Lancaster University.
Starbucks, Greggs and the local convenience store are all in a Shell fuel station within 400 yards.
There's a long-established Indian restaurant and takeaway within 750 yards and even a Vietnamese in Kirkham.
Village pubs, restaurants and tea rooms in every direction.
Fishing (on a day licence) and clay pigeon shooting nearby.
Private parking in the farmyard at the rear, not visible from the road. Space for a large car but doubtful for a long wheelbase van.
One only genial and accommodating fellow to share with (that's me). I'm a car racing and cricket nut and spend a lot of time away from home coaching drivers on race tracks and house/pet sitting.
The bedroom available for you has a king-sized 5ft very comfy high quality £1,500 bed, wardrobes, a chest of drawers, a reclining chair, a bedside cabinet, a fan and a 40" smart TV.
The luxury bathroom has a bath, a highly efficient electric shower, heated towel rail, heater, extractor fan, lighted and heated mirror, scales etc. I'm often away but even when I’m home we can ensure between us the bathroom is available to you when you set off to and return from work. In any case there are other facilities I can use in other buildings on site.
Large lounge. Very high specification 65" smart TV. Farmyard views. Three seater settee with recliners, a massage seat which reclines, rocks and swivels, and my fold-out bed which lives within a radiator cover. Yes, this does mean I sleep in the lounge.
Laundry room with washer/dryer.
Big kitchen/diner with dining table, dishwasher, oven, microwave, air fryer. Garden and farmyard views. The room is big and bright enough for the table to be used as a desk if you work from home. The kitchen also houses a sim racing rig which I'm happy to share it and to coach a beginner. Also a 24" smart TV.
In addition to the double glazing everywhere else, your bedroom window also has highly effective 25mm thick plywood panels with professional quality sound absorbing foam on the panels and in the reveals.
If you make a good case for doing so, some furniture can be moved around between rooms. Some can be removed. Some can be added.
If I'm at home the lounge is sharable from at least 9.00am to at least 10:30pm. When I'm working away it's available 24/7. All other rooms and facilities are also available 24/7 including two other rooms with smart TVs, one of which is your own room.
Grassed garden looking onto the farmyard.
There's a chill-out area at the back of the premises with various animals in the petting zoo. Take one of the fold-up chairs from the garden (and maybe a brolly!) and relax there at the end of a busy day.
Broadband, council tax and utilities included.
Applications also welcome from people who otherwise qualify and have a diagnosed level of neurodiversity. I've shared with similar before and been told that both I and the location are therapeutic. Note that I'm not any kind of counsellor though.

The correct address is Smithy Bungalow, Fleetwood Road, PR4. There's no house number. It's a white bungalow next to a white two storey house with white railings on the pavement. 400 yards from the Shell service station (going away from the M55) and on the opposite side of the road. Turn in to the lane by the two storey building (signed as Smithy Farm), come into the yard and turn right by the hedge to the bungalow. Please be sure you've understood these directions and ideally found them in your satnav device before setting off. Some devices will find Smithy Farm Shop, which is in the same farmyard as Smithy Farm and Smithy Bungalow. Smithy Bungalow is the single storey building and is where the spare room is. The two storey building is not a bungalow and is not where the spare room is.
