Centrally-located, Modern Single Bed In Aldgate

Modern ensuite in a 3-bed flatshare, with respectful, quiet and clean professionals in their mid-late 20s.

The room:
- A single bed with a good quality mattress for comfortable sleeping, a large window for natural sunlight and good storage space.
- A desk and chair with shelves connected to the desk
- Overhead cupboards for space and a wardrobe.
- The window can open fully for fresh-air
- A nice view of the architecture of a historic church can be seen from the window.
- The flat is quiet and you generally cannot hair noises from other rooms. However, if you are sensitive to noise then you can hear some noise when someone is using the kitchen but this has not affected previous flatmates
- The bathroom is shared with one other person
- There is an additional storage space outside the room in the hallway to store extra belongings
- One important point is that this room is small so don't expect a lot of space.

The flat
- A modern flat that is always maintained. If things are not working or there is an issue with something in the flat, the landlord is very kind to always pay for it to be fixed (note I am not the landlord but a flatmate so am more unbiased about the landlord's attitude)
- The landlord kindly pays for the water of the flat as part of the service charge meaning we only pay for internet (around 11.50 a month and electricity around 50 a month per tenant
- The kitchen has a dishwasher, washer-dryer, oven, stove, fridge-freezer, microwave and good draw space. However, the kitchen is small so it might not suit someone who is planning to do a lot of cooking.
- There is no living room in the flat.

The flatmates
An easy-going and quiet 29-year-old male who is a British-Ukrainian PhD student doing research at UCL in psychology and runs an academic education start-up.

The landlord
-He is very friendly and understanding. A private landlord so no agency fees.
-Always fixes things that are broken and covers the cost almost always (never had a situation where I felt he was unfair).
- He is flexible with things like ending a contract early (but we still need a minimum of 6 months, and 1 year is preferable), making reasonable requests for improvements in the flat and cares about the flatmates (e. g., when COVID-19 started he was very kind to offer support for us).
- We speak on WhatsApp and the landlord can be a bit slow to reply but he eventually replies after a few reminders.

- 3 Minutes’ walk to DLR Tower Gateway
- 5 minutes’ walk to Tower Hill Station (District & Circle Line)
- 6 minutes’ walk to Aldgate Station (Metropolitan and Circle Line)
- 8 minutes’ walk to Aldgate East Station (Hammersmith & City and District Line)
- 12 minutes’ walk to Liverpool Street (Central Line)
- 15 minutes’ walk to Monument (Northern Line)
- Choice of around 10 different buses within walking distance of the flat

The area
- Safe area with professionals and some students living in the area.
- Tesco (15 seconds walk), Sainsbury's (3 minutes’ walk), Co-op (4 minutes’ walk), Tesco Metro (10 minutes’ walk), Waitrose (10 minutes’ walk), slightly bigger Sainsbury's (5 minutes’ walk), Boots Pharmacy (5 minutes’ walk)
- Nice places to walk during COVID-19 outbreak including St Katherine's Dock, Tower Bridge, Chaucer Gardens, Tower Hill Garden and along the Thames River

Is this for you?
-This is a low priced room located in a central location of London. The building is regularly maintained, there is a concierge service, and the area and flat has professionals living here. The area itself is very safe. The kitchen has everything you need and the bathroom was renovated just 2 years ago. It has been maintained very well. The corridor of the flat is always clean and tidy. The internet is fast being 60MBP. The kitchen though is small and the room is also small. This flat is more for someone that loves a new and modern place in the centre of London and in a safe place but that doesn't have a huge budget and is okay with a small kitchen.
