There are plenty of shops nearby, a food market on Saturdays, and some good new restaurants. Islington has pubs galore and Highgate is 20/25 minutes depending on how quickly you can walk up the big hill.
The room is furnished with a double bed and a wardrobe.
The flat is a 2-storey maisonette in a Victorian conversion. There's a large lounge with 3 seater couch, armchair and a table and chairs. The kitchen isn't huge but there's plenty of space and a large fridge/freezer. There's one shared bathroom with a shower/bath.

You would be sharing the flat with the current flatmate Nuno and Jess.
