Some basic information out of the way first:

Available: 4 Jan (but potentially as soon as 4 Dec)

Term: our lease runs to July 3 2022, but will we be able to extend easily. You'll need to come on to the lease to take the room. The landlord is easygoing.

Bills: ~150pcm for a single, ~100pcm for a couple (power, heating, water, broadband, council tax).

Rent for a couple: 1200pcm

Would you like to live in the redevelopment of the old Arsenal stadium in Highbury? I need a new housemate to live in a big 2 bedroom flat, with a large living room and kitchen. The flat is modern and pretty spectacular. It has floor to ceiling glass sliding doors that look out onto the garden of the development, which was the pitch of the old stadium.

The room itself is huge with a built-in wardrobe and plenty of storage space. It is an ensuite with a very large modern bathroom with bath and shower. It is also fully furnished with a double bed and an additional chest of drawers.

The flat is otherwise very modern with a separate bathroom, fully furnished with three couches (a little bit snug), a big TV, and plenty of cabinet space in the kitchen for cooking equipment and groceries (and my mild addiction to cookbooks). It also has a large fridge with freezer. And there is more storage space in the hallway.

The facility has a 24hr concierge which makes dealing with the property and receiving parcels a breeze! There is a Fitness First that is part of the same building (though no discount for residents unfortunately) and there is an enormous parking garage below ground where bikes can be safely stored. It is also possible to make arrangements with other residents to use parking bays if you own a car (or just have a friend who wants to drive in to visit).

Arsenal tube station (Picaddilly) is literally less than a 5-min walk from the flat. Finsbury Park station is a 10-min walk (Piccadilly, Victoria, National Rail, including trains direct to London city, Gatwick Airport, Brighton and Cambridge). Highbury & Islington station is a 20-min walk (Victoria and the Overground).

And the vibe when Arsenal games are on is great! The streets are full of fans (in a fun way, not a dodgy way) and there are delicious food vendors on the nearby streets.

And there are loads of good pubs and food in the area: Woodbine, Bank of Friendship, Salt the Radish, Finks, Dotori. I could go on.

I'm a 33 year old barrister, soon to be moving to a policy role with the Civil Service. I currently work mostly from home, so I'm around quite a lot. I work from my room, though so the living area is always free. But I expect from next year I'll be in the office a lot more. I love to cook and read (NK Jemisin's Broken Earth trilogy is next to my bed at the moment), I like to go on long walks that I dislike while doing and then love in retrospect, and I love climbing at the Castle (nearby) so keen for a new belay partner too!
