Double ensuite in garden flat in Bloomsbury

Hi! I’m looking for a gay or gay-friendly male flatmate for this double ensuite room in a garden flat in Bloomsbury, as my old flatmate has just moved in with his partner.

The whole flat was refurbished about 2 years ago when the house, a Georgian terrace, was converted into apartments. The double bed, mattress, desk and chair are brand new. The room has soft ceiling lighting and lamps. There is a soft thick carpet with underfloor heating. The room has lots of storage, including a medium bookshelf, under-bed storage, and extra-large built-in wardrobe with its own lights that turn on when you open the door (it’s the little things that count!).

The ensuite bathroom has a glass walk-in shower, loo and sink (obviously), and storage behind the large wall mirrors.

Common areas are:
• Living room: all the usual things. The TV has Netflix and Virgin Media. I also have a Nintendo Switch.
• Dining area: has a large table for 6 people which you should feel free to work at - my previous flatmate and I both used the table when we worked at home over lockdown and there was plenty of space.
• Kitchen – good size with an oven, microwave oven, washing machine, dishwasher, blender, fridge/freezer and plenty of cupboard space. Kitchen island facing the dinner table.
• Garden: newly re-paved last summer with tiles and artificial grass. Garden walls have just been repainted and I’m getting some plants and ivy.
• Two shoe cabinets.
• In-built ceiling speakers.
• Underfloor heating throughout the house.

The whole property is about 1,100 square feet.

The building has a lift and has a responsive management company. They have someone to take out the bins for the whole building every weekend. The neighbours are great, including a Spanish family who are really nice because I baked brownies for them when they moved in.

The house is close to the restaurants and bars on Lamb’s Conduit Street and Gray’s Inn Road. There are two lovely small pubs around the corner. Supermarkets are within 2 minutes’ walk. A big Waitrose and the Brunswick Centre are a 10-minute walk away. Exmouth market is about 7 minutes. There are plenty of independent cafés and restaurants dotted around.

The nearest tube station is Chancery Lane on the Central Line (5 minutes’ walk), or Holborn, Russell Square and Farringdon (10 minutes’ walk).

Gyms: two Gymboxes (!), two PureGyms, Fitness First, Nuffield, and The Gym - all less than 10 minutes’ walk away. Equinox is about 20 minutes away by bus/tube, so take your pick.

A bit about me: I’m 28, gay, and work in law. My interests include working out, bouldering, eating out and travel. I’m easy to get along with (my old flatmate and I spent most of lockdown together, got along really well, and we still hang out), I’m generally quite tidy, always respectful and keep the place clean.

I’m looking for a male professional flatmate who’s hopefully similar in outlook and interests, and gay or gay-friendly. Someone who’s going to help look after the place and hopefully we can be friends. I’m happy for up to 3 visitors in the apartment at any one time – any more and it’s too much for the flat (and probably the neighbours). I’d ask for rent to be paid monthly in advance, as well as 1 month’s deposit paid 7 days before move-in.
