Hello potential new flatmate,
I'm Tory (short for Victoria), and I'm looking for a lovely new flatmate. Is that you?!
I'd say I'm fun, sociable, open-minded, and like to see the funny side of things. I love meeting people, dancing, cooking, all sorts. Living with me should hopefully be straightforward - I believe in being respectful of personal space, but also in being as honest as I can so that we both know where we stand. Routine-wise, the only thing to bear in mind is that I tend to do online workout videos every other morning (yoga/aerobics, etc!) but apparently they're not noisy!
Ideally you are: relaxed but pretty sociable, with your own life etc; you are happy to share the cleaning; and you are respectful of noise and kind to the neighbours. I like living with people I get on with - we don't have to be best mates, but it's nice having a laugh and going to the pub or cooking together occasionally, too.
I'm a freelance food journalist and I work from home a lot during the day so ideally I am looking for someone who does not work from home too (or no more than once a week).
The flat:
- it's owned by myself and my brother, but he is currently abroad.
- Your room is a large light double room with double glazed windows, at the front of the house, on a quiet road between Brixton and Camberwell. There is space for a yoga mat in there too :)
- We are getting proper curtains and blinds fitted in the coming weeks, so you will have some by the end of January!
- It's also 5 mins' walk from the gorgeous Ruskin Park, in a lovely little neighbourhood of people - a mix of some young and new and some who’ve lived here for years.
- There's a shared bathroom, a big cosy sitting room, and a kitchen leading onto little garden at the back.
- all bills (internet/water/elec+gas/conte nts insurance/tv) are included
The neighbourhood:
- I adore the neighbourhood and get on well with my neighbours on both sides - I'd hope that anyone who moved in would be keen to do the same :)
Transport
- There is a lot - the flat is a 5-min walk from Loughborough Junction Station (5 mins to ele&castle; 10 to Blackfriars/Farringdon; 15 mins to Kings Cross); 20 mins walk or short bus to Brixton; 12-min walk to Denmark hill overground.
Shops:
There's a small grocer and Co-Op supermarket 5 mins away, or a big Morrisons, Post Office, and other useful shops a 10-min walk away in Camberwell. Brixton is obviously filled with opportunities to go out and eat, drink and dance.
Viewings:
I'm in and out this weekend - and keen to do viewings on Saturday morning/afternoon, Sunday morning/evening, or Monday daytime/evening
