Mon-Fri stays, Canary Wharf. Fully Serviced Rooms
*This is a Monday-Friday lodging offer starting April 2022*
A bit of history….
Back in the days when few people heard of the word “furlough” and before a lot of people became smartphone Virologists, I used to rent out two rooms in my flat as Monday to Friday lodgings to some lovely people who worked in Canary Wharf. It was all good and jolly, everyone was happy.
Along came Corona and workplaces closed, my lodgers left. I then got in regular, full time lodgers who are still there as I write and are expected to leave in April 2022.
So from May 2022, I’ll go back to having Monday-Friday lodgers. As I have a paid-for subscription with Spareroom, I thought, I’d post the advert and gather details so when the time comes, I’m ready.
The flat is 10 mins walk from Canary Wharf Jubilee line station and 5 minutes walk away from South Quay DLR.
There are 2 bedrooms. There is a living area which is open plan with a kitchen and there are 2 large patios or balconies.
The photos are accurate and a true representation as to what the flat looks like - these have not been taken with special lenses been used to show things bigger than they are. The only key difference - the flowering plants have not been maintained as the current lodgers work full time. But the plants will be back in 2022.
This bedroom has an en-suite as pictured. The bed is a double. The cost is £650 per month but you can have charge free periods for a month when you are on holiday. Also, there is no unreasonable tie in – if there is anything like corona or a restriction, you won’t have to pay any notice.
Pre-corona, I used to charge £750, but in the post-corona world, demand is likely to be far less as many roles will be full-time remote. And despite what estate agents say, rental prices in the Canary Wharf area have gone down significantly.
This has a single bed and its own separate exclusive bathroom. The cost is £620 per month but you can have charge free periods for a month when you are on holiday. Also, there is no unreasonable tie in – if there is anything like corona or a restriction, you won’t have to pay any notice.
Pre-corona, I used to charge £725 for this room, but in the post-corona world, demand is likely to be far less as many roles will be full-time remote. And despite what estate agents say, rental prices in the Canary Wharf area have gone down significantly.
For both bedrooms
Bed linen and towels are provided for your use and are cleaned weekly. Also the rooms are cleaned for you, so its like a hotel or a serviced apartment. Most of the bedding, cushions are throws are from The White Company.
You’d use it in the manner of a hotel, though you can leave some possessions behind over the weekend, there won’t be a lot of space for you.
Additionally, there is secure underground parking, which I can offer for an additional cost. There is also a secure storage room for bicycles.
Unfortunately, past experience has shown that many persons sending me messages have not read the advert, so please include the word "green" in the advert so I know that you're one of the diligent ones who've read this far. Without this word, regrettably, I'm not able to respond.
Thank you for your interest, if you wish to find out more, please send me a message telling me about yourself and your needs.
