Jess here. My housemate is returning home to Australia so I'm looking for a new pal to join myself and my good friend Charlie to move into our lovely Canonbury flat.
About us: We're (relatively) young professionals, both product managers for a digital agency and have been friends for a number of years. We both enjoy leading pretty active lives, pints at the pub and kicking back listening to vinyls whilst enjoying a vino.
About the room: We are flexible on which rooms are on offer, as Charlie is happy to take either. The smaller room (£880 PCM) is a cosy double and the middle room (£980 PCM) is quite spacious and easily fits a desk for those needing to wfh. You would also be welcome to work at the kitchen table if preferred.
About the flat: The Palace. A place to call home. It's a 3-bed fully furnished modern flat, with spacious kitchen and very livable living room. There is one main bathroom that Charlie and the new addition will share. It's well and truly more of a 'family' vibe, we tend to hang out most evenings when we aren't out and about (sadly a rare occurrence at the moment..) and share the cooking. But of course, we all need some quiet time and privacy, and that's great too. Bills are about £120 per month.
The garden and the patio: So, you've seen the photos. Unfortunately the lease stipulates that we only have access to the patio (where the white chairs are in the picture). It's wonderful in summer, particularly for some lunch or arvo drinks, and we have two sturdy patio heaters ready for when we are allowed to open the 'Alwyne Road Hotel' again. The garden and view really make our place pretty special.
About the street: Alwyne Road is a gorgeous hidden gem in Canonbury. Frankly, the only reason we can afford it is because we live in what must be the old servant's quarters beneath a three storey mansion. The landlord Mrs M lives up top. Our backyard backs onto the New River Walk canal and we are surrounded by some of the finest pubs going around, with the Myddleton, Canonbury Tavern, Smokehouse and Alwyne Castle within a 5 min walk.
About you: This has always been a 'friends house' rather than a sharehouse and we're really keen on finding someone that is looking for something similar.
Paperwork: You will need to be on the lease, which ends on 11 August 2021. The lease includes an option to renew for 12 months, so we are looking for a longer term housemate.
