SPECULATIVE AD — not 100% sure I want a long-term lodger — but open to discussion if the right person comes along.
I normally love living alone, with a very active social life including a lot of entertaining at home... .but the 'rona has scuppered that and made solitary living very... well... solitary.
So, fancy joining me for a few months and see how it goes?
Large double en-suite room in vast, super-comfortable, and urbane gay-male Covent Garden penthouse apartment with enormous room terrace and lift access directly into the flat.
Quite literally 200m from the centre of London and overlooked by Lord Nelson. Being nestled between Leicester Square, Covent Garden, and Trafalgar Square makes it ideal (in normal times) for shopping, entertainment, restaurants, transport links, etc.
THE ROOM: New king-size bed, fitted wardrobe, 2 bedside tables, a small chest of drawers, and a desk & chair making it suitable for working from home. Sole use of a en-suite bathroom (bath & shower). Air conditioned & double-glazed (for when busyness returns to the West End).
THE FLAT: Shared open-plan living room / kitchen, plus a huge roof terrace (entire top of building) with dining table and seating area. Ideal if you like a bit of potted-gardening and drinks outside once the weather improves. Third bedroom is the resident landlord's office (super-fast fibre Wi-Fi included).
ME: A friendly and youthful single 54 year old gay professional business owner (media & communications sector). Well-educated, well-travelled, ex-military and now working from home permanently. Total foodie, keen amateur chef, interested in world affairs and socialising. Clean & tidy. Politically centre-right, conservative leaning.
YOU: A lively, intelligent, considerate, professional, house-proud, and sociable gay man who equally enjoys people and chatting about life over a glass of wine. Probably educated to degree-level, and one who is both interesting and interested in the world around him (this now sound like Hinge!).
You are ideally looking to contribute to a convivial household, not one who just disappears into his room with his own dinner. There's usually a bottle of wine on the go ... BUT there's also enough space to be totally private and not get in each other's way.
RENT: £1250 pcm but negotiable if only short-term... inclusive of utilities, council tax, super-fast fibre broadband, TV licence, and a weekly cleaner; rent is payable monthly in advance, with 1 month's deposit.
