Dear humans we’re looking for a housemate to complete our home

THE ROOM:
A fully furnished double room (with double bed, wardrobe, little desk) is available at our inclusive, cat loving, very-nerdy, supportive, food sharing home in Forrest Gate.

TENANCY AGREEMENT:
Mandatory tenancy check with landlord that includes:
- Copy of Passport (full colour)
- Copy of other ID (e. g driving licence/ birth certificate)
- Proof of employment - 3 latest pay slips
- Tenancy reference (from your last rental)
If approved you’ll have a tenancy agreement with your name and you'll be included in the Council Tax.


ABOUT US:
We are 2 cats and 2 humans.

I’m Margarida (she/her) a gender-fluid-expression-queer-woman, not straight, passionate food enthusiast, intersectional feminist, anti-racist, illustrator, Netflix lover. I’m into plant based cooking, sustainability, non-violent communication, radical honesty, nature, burlesque, performance, arts, ethical non-monogamy, cycling, body acceptance and much more.
I work for a charity that empowers residents to fight gentrification.

Kit (she/her) is a nerdy trans girl. She's into D&D and pink. Works at a books shop. Great chilli cooking skills and turned me into a Nacho devotee. She sings and hums a lot (one of her delightful features).

Kit and I were already housemates in our previous house and moved into this new home at the beginning of January 2021. I’ve been on a mostly plant based diet for about 4 years, Kit’s a vegetarian and we would prefer to share a home with a vegetarian or vegan.

Wasabi and Easy, the 2 feline cuties in the pictures are my feline companions. Wasi is 7.5 y. o. and Easy 6 y. o. . They are curious, cuddly (when THEY want to) and very playful. They are house cats which means being extra careful with windows and doors.

We enjoy spending time together but also respect each others space and alone time.
We enjoy using the kitchen. and living room surfaces to work from and have each other around. We encourage you to do the same. We're into sharing meals, watching series and movies together, watching each other play Nintendo Switch, going for an occasional walk or grocery shopping together and would love for you to join the house dynamic.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Trans-positive, sustainability clued up, cat lover, body & sex positive, clean & tidy housemates. We expect you to take care of the home, have initiative, be autonomous, clean after yourself and be accountable for your share of the communal load.
Our home is free from stimulants. By stimulants we mean drugs and heavy alcohol. The occasional drink is ok and we don't need anyone to hold back during house gatherings. We want to share our life with people that are mostly present and sober and want you to be on a similar wavelength for our home to feel safe. Coffee, tea and chocolate are encouraged he he.
Also the Nintendo Switch is in the living room, plugged to the TV and you are welcome to use it.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD:
We are close to nature, the Wanstead Flats are literally across the street, and it's the beginning of Epping Forrest. The pond has a wide variety of adorable ducks, swans and at least one koi fish (huge, white orange and black, adorable).
There's a bakery about 5min from us that makes delicious sourdough bread, several convenience stores and shops where we can get ingredients from different. cultures and nationalities.
The people are very nice and have been welcoming.
