I'm leaving this amazing house to move in with my girlfriend. I can honestly say it's the best house I've lived in London and it's bargain price, plus the fun and friendly housemates make it even more special.
The people:
Remaining in the house is Gareth, Dora, and Catherine. They are all working professionals, Gareth is UX Designer, Dora is an accountant and Catherine in TV Production. We are all sociable, like minded people and like to hang out for chats, watch TV together and have house drinks or meals from time to time. We also have a big garden with sliding doors that open up from the kitchen, making it a beautiful space for BBQs or simply dabbling in growing plants and vegetables. Of course we also all have our own lives outside the house and respect each others space, which is very easy in such a spacious house. We are looking for someone who is friendly and sociable, working full time and can fit in nicely to the household balance!
The house:
As mentioned the house is great! It's by far the best house I've lived in since I moved to London 6 years ago, and has a great landlord and letting agent. It was totally refurbished in 2018 to a really high standard. Since then the house has been kept clean and in excellent condition. We've also added lots of furniture and artwork to make it feel like home.
The kitchen is very big, with a nice kitchen island and doors that open up to the garden, which is amazing in the summer. There's a good sized living room and a communal area for coats and bikes etc. We've got three toilets and two showers and a bath, so there's never any rush for the bathrooms in the morning.
The room itself is a good sized double. It faces the garden so it's very peaceful and you get a nice view of trees and our neighbours cat trying to catch birds. There's plenty of room for a desk if you are working from home at the moment and we also have lots of communal space so you definitely won't feel boxed in.
We've also got a nice garden with a lawn and shed for storage. Although we did have a family of foxes under the shed the past two summers!
Overall the house is really spacious and has been an oasis for us over the uncertainty of from the pandemic.
The area:
We are 5-10 mins walk from Green Lanes which is full of amazing Turkish restaurants, shops (Inc Tesco, an organic shop, and loads of different groceries), and great pubs and bars like The Salisbury and Jam in Jar.
Hornsey station is 6 mins away which takes you in to Moorgate and Turnpike lane is an 8 min walk which gets you on the Piccadilly line. Plus there's loads of buses on green lanes which will take you central.
You can also walk to Ally Pally in about 20 minutes which is a beautiful green space.
Rent:
Rent is £655 and bills come to around £100-120 a month. That includes a weekly cleaner, internet, gas, elec, water and council tax
Availability:
The room is available from the 20th October. It's unfurnished, though I would be happy to sell on the bed and chest of drawers for a cheap price.
Drop us a message telling us a bit about yourself and let's book a viewing!
